To think DH is so annoying

ICanSeeTheSun · 10/06/2014 21:40

It's his birthday soon.

He doesn't want anything. Suggested a lot of things but he has said no to everything.

What do I get a man who doesn't want anything.

Stop asking him.
Just choose something you'd like him to have.
Dp is like this (although he's not a gamer and does have other interests), but he buys everything he wants or needs as and when.
Last year for his birthday I ordered a load of mail order Cornish pasties (we'd just had a Cornish holiday), the newest footy top, a bottle of cognac for his shed bar, a special French knife, a box set and a few other bits. He wouldnt have asked for any of them but he was really pleased with them and thought.
Just get him something and stop asking!

DH is impossible to buy for too, then I found the uber man-site and have managed to get something for him for birthday/Christmas for the last few years. I The kids are getting him tickets for a comedy gig for Father's Day...

What games does he play?

IWalkInTheSun · 10/06/2014 23:17

this?

parentalunit · 10/06/2014 23:18

Mine is the same. He hates it when I spend money on something unnecessary, and nice little presents fall into that category.

He does like his favourite meal though, and a day out to a park or something free/cheap with the kids.

MrsItsNoworNotatAll · 11/06/2014 01:33

Dh has the same problem with me.

I don't mean to be annoying it's just I can never think of anything that I want.

And if I do think of something I usually forget about it before I've had chance to mention it to him.

I have asked him for a new memory as that would be a fabulous present.

wafflyversatile · 11/06/2014 01:38

Get him some chocolates you like and eat them for him.

JudysPriest · 11/06/2014 08:16

ICanSeeTheSun · 11/06/2014 20:45

deakymom · 11/06/2014 22:58

buy him something just in case but give him nothing unless he asks

whats his console BTW?

Ruralretreating · 11/06/2014 23:06

An idea for another occasion - subscription to Retro Gamer or Edge magazine? Also get him to set up an Amazon wish list, it saves hours I will never get back of trying to figure out which games, consoles or accessories may be appreciated!

zipzap · 11/06/2014 23:13

A badge that says something along the lines of 'Nothing'.

If you look on some of the gift shop sites they will sell you a packet of nothing - for an extortionate price, well, considering they are selling you, nothing and a load of packaging. Take the idea - then wrap him up a nice big empty box - and when he queries it, say that as he said he wanted nothing, that's what you are giving him, just nicely wrapped Grin

PrincessBabyCat · 12/06/2014 04:02

Just get him something really, really weird that'll leave him scratching his head. Like Handerpants! They're underpants, but for your hands. Grin

MrsTerryPratchett · 12/06/2014 04:09

Gaming headphones, the better to ignore you with. That's what bloody DH just got, "WHAT?" is all I hear now

catgirl1976 · 12/06/2014 06:37

It's DHs birthday today. If it's any help I got him the Apple TV box thingy that makes the stuff on your Ipad go on the TV (so sort of turns it into a Smart TV)

DS (2.5) has got him a small Wall-E toy as apparently "Daddy will like that" Confused

Branleuse · 12/06/2014 07:35

Make him a cake or give him a special relaxed dun day. Hes telling quite clearly he doesn't want stuff
