I need your ideas!
I only have around 10 to spend on my dad and my dp. Both of them are working away so a day out is going to be put on hold. Does anyone have any ideas? Theyre both lovely and wish I could spend more but have just started a new job and had to pay crazy money for car repairs :(
Any help appreciated!

Last year when DD was 3 months, DP got a personalised coffee canister with posh coffee (caffeine addict). This year he's trying to be healthy and has asked for a teapot tea infuser. He even sent me the link to the one he wants Grin

I haven't got a scooby about what to get my own DF. Hmm. What to get the man who has everything (and doesn't really want much of that either).

Fuck, when is fathers day??? Confused

I'm skint, going to have to bake DP a cake or summat, maybe get DS1 to draw him a nice pic, i assume he'll make a card at school.

MrsWinnibago · 10/06/2014 10:15

I'm afraid my DH has a "gift set" with a mug, socks and keyring in it! He'll have to like it...it was a fiver. Grin

caruthers · 10/06/2014 10:17

For fathers day I get the company of my children and a card of each of the...it brightens my day with these things.

If I get a pair of socks thrown in here and there it just embellishes the day.

TallyGrenshall · 10/06/2014 10:23

DF is getting a card and a mug

DS has decided that he wants to make DP lasagne and a chocolate cake. I'll take him to the city on Saturday to buy a little present of some sort as well

Never had Father's Day in our family. Let alone Grandparents' Day, Siblings' Day, or indeed Trick or Treat, either. Yankee nonsense. And Mother's Day is on Mothering Sunday; DW doesn't get anything from me now children are grown-up. She's not MY mum.

If you want retro sweets, the website A Quarter Of is very good.

Home-made biscuits and cards always go down well in my family.

squoosh · 10/06/2014 12:09

The giant Fathers' Day Toblerones are only £2.50 in Morrison's.

Cocolepew · 10/06/2014 12:13

ThinkIveBeenHacked where did you get the Bazinga socks from?
Asda has a good Sheldon/Bazinga tshirt if anyone is a BBT fan

I printed 3 pictures for DH and got a 3 aperture frame from Wilkos. All for an amazing £7! We have so few pictures of DD I thought it would be a nice kick start to getting some sorted out.

YellowStripe · 10/06/2014 12:28

Sainsburys have a Me and my Dad (and Grandad) memory book for 2.99. Things for a little one and their dad/grandad to talk about and fill in.

Sicaq · 10/06/2014 13:01

I've got mine a posh loaf of fruit bread from Back Home (they stock it in the international aisle of big supermarkets), fruit spread (also from the Motherland) some posh coffee, and a nice card. He can have a decent breakfast, is my thinking. It was about £11 (before postage).

Joysmum · 10/06/2014 13:12

We don't do 'things' we do days out, such as picnics, to make memories to treasure.

ShineSmile · 10/06/2014 13:14

John Lewis has a simple daddy mug which is cute

ohhhhpieceofcandy · 10/06/2014 13:46

I've bought a mug from PhotoBox from our 15 week old DD. It's plain when cold but a picture of her appears when you pour a hot drink in!

You get 30% off a second mug so ordered 2 and I'll give the second one to her grandpa.

MiniSoksMakeHardWork · 10/06/2014 19:36

Dh has so far got a tie pin. A really nice (imo) hand crafted job. Cost £7 from a craft fair - any near you?

The kids will make cards Thursday while he's at work. Pinterest also has fab ideas so I'm taking pictures of the kids and laminating as bookmarks for him.

SunnySideOfTheStreet · 10/06/2014 19:41

Stolen from a birthday thread so can't take any credit. I have put a £10 bet on DH's football team winning the double next year and have put the betting slip in his card......

beccajoh · 10/06/2014 19:43

I got DH a photo mug from photobox. Think it was £9 per mug inc delivery.

CarmineRose1978 · 10/06/2014 19:43

I got my Dad the new Stephen King, but I'm having loads of trouble thinking of things for my PIL. My DP isn't helping much either... It's sort of become my job to think of the presents!

MyCarHasBrokenDownAgain · 10/06/2014 19:53

PIES! Get a really nice pie (these are amazing and a great treat, packed with really nice meat, but don't know if available where you are: www.therealpieco.co.uk/) . My friend did this for her dad after we had a similar discussion - he was really pleased (and loved the pie! Grin).

justmyview · 10/06/2014 19:55

How about a coin sorter? My DH is vaguely obsessed with the idea. Simple ones from Amazon cost about 10GBP

honeybeeridiculous · 10/06/2014 20:02

Thanks worra great idea about the cellophane, I bought a roll today and did it myself! looks pretty damn goodSmile
Also got a scratch card to put inside his Father's Day card
