Would you be slightly annoyed if you sold something to someone for one amount then saw them selling it at same place for more? I know this is how traders work but this is just where people by and sell random stuff.

Ignore it. If they bought it in order to sell it on, obviously they're not going to sell it at the same price.

FatalCabbage · 08/06/2014 15:04

Offering for sale, or actually selling?

One of those things. You got the price you wanted, they took a risk. Shrug.

emms1981 · 08/06/2014 15:09

Well they may not get price they want, no they didn't buy it to sell on I sold it last year and now they are moving, I thought if you bought something 2nd hand if you sell it again you would normally sell for same or less. Never mind

They might not remember what they paid. I find it a bit odd you do after a year tbh!

Bearbehind · 08/06/2014 15:16

YABU- whatever it was might have increased in value, they might not remember what they paid for it, you might have sold it too cheaply.

If it's a year on they weren't exactly rushing to make a killing on it Hmm

I would be slightly annoyed, but it would depend on if the person I sold it to was a close friend and if it was mates rates.

My friend gave (yes gave!!) to our other friend (I wanted it as well but she was there first) and other friend is now selling it on Facebook for £100! If I was first friend I would be foaming at her Confused

I'd sell it for as much as I could.

Delphiniumsblue · 08/06/2014 15:20

I can see it is annoying if you gave it away but I can't see it is a problem if you sold it- just ask the price you really want in the first place.

80sMum · 08/06/2014 15:22

The selling price of any item is usually determined by whatever a buyer would be prepared to pay for it!

In the 2nd hand market there are often huge mark ups. Think antique dealers who buy up house clearance lots!

Anyone selling anything is surely going to get the best price they can for it. That's how businesses work!

So, sorry OP but YABVU.

If you were happy at the time with the price you received then you have no reason to be upset.
I can understand (a little) why you are, but if you were happy at the time, well...
