To be upset I've paid £66 for nothing?

I had an interview for a care agency and was accepted but needed to pay for my CRB and uniform (£66) and also attend 3 days training. I wasn't paid for this.

I have received NO work Sad

I'm worried and stressed.

Is it Nurse Plus?

holly49582 · 08/06/2014 19:41

No, it isn't Nurse Plus.

I have tried my hospital and haven't got anywhere as they use an agency.

I think I need to explore other avenues - very tricky, though.

Ask the hospital what agency they primarily use and then give them a call. I'd be very, very surprised if they did not have a nursing bank though.

If you are a supply teacher or invigilator (common jobs to those with young kids who are qualified teachers) or work in Further Education colleges you have to pay for your DRB yourself actually. I think it's dreadful. These are such a rip off as they are accurate just at time of print out and then not!

Did you sign up to make your DBS (new name for CRB) universal? That way you only need to get it once and then other agencies/organisations can use it as well. But you only have 2 weeks from the date of issue, or you can do it with the application number to make sure you don't miss out.
