They're maine coons paintedlady -cream one weighs 30lbs

PaintedLady2014 · 08/06/2014 09:51

I thought they might be...gorgeous!

The cats I had growing up were Siamese tabby. Their mum was a pedigree show cat but she got out and was taken advantage of by a random tabby cat. So we got her babies. They were stunning...same shape and size as a Siamese but with tiger like markings.

Wow they sound stunning. We had similargrowing up , a burmese that had bred with a big ginger tom.

PaintedLady2014 · 08/06/2014 09:58

Oh I bet that was lovely too. I could talk about cats all day Blush

Aww, cuddling cats! Too cute!

Bettercallsaul1 · 08/06/2014 11:45

What beautiful cats!

honeybeeridiculous - I love fat boy in his box! He looks so dignified and pleased with himself! (I've always had a weakness for, hem, portly cats!)

Statistically - that photograph on the left is like a work of art. What a beautiful colour your cats are - the one on the left especially.

And not forgetting the gorgeous, super-cute Simon, of course!

Puzzledandpissedoff · 08/06/2014 12:04

Absolutely beautiful, OP ... and all we've got is a boring black and white

In a bid to mak her more appreciative, I keep telling her that if we took her for rehoming nobody would want her (they're always stuffed with B&Ws) but it just doesn't sink in Grin

Bettercallsaul1 · 08/06/2014 12:34

Puzzledandpissedoff -Sometimes the less aesthetic cats are the cutest and friendliest - perhaps to make up for their lack of obvious outward charms.

We once had four kittens to give away and three were beautiful - each an exact copy of one of their gorgeous parents. The fourth was an unfortunate hybrid of her long-haired grey father and short haired ginger mother - with tufts of both colours in an unappealing texture. She was immediately nicknamed "Mothball" and we were reconciled to keeping her and adding her to our existing cat collection. We needn't have worried. She had such a cute, appealing personality that she was the first kitten to be chosen - by a lovely young teacher -and she kept the name!

So I've been told ... pity it doesn't apply to our rancorous thing!!!

I can't tell you just how much I yearn for a gentle, purring tabby Wink

My boy (the white one) is so needy! He loves my girl but she only tolerates him Grin

Catatonic -Aaaaaw! (Think I'm on the wrong forum this morning!)

PaintedLady2014 · 08/06/2014 12:56

Oooh more gorgeous kitties! They are all lovely!

If I had a bigger place and more money I'd definitely get more. You can never have enough cats I don't think...

We once had four permanent ones, and then eight temporarily, when one had (the afore-mentioned) kittens.

Skimmingstones · 08/06/2014 13:19

Oh I am so loving looking at this thread. I adore cats and had 3 at one time, I desperately want one but just can't at this time. Ds has sn and he adores cats (all animals infact) but he is totally heavy handed and and very unpredictable so I just couldn't risk it but i so hope one day, it would be so good for him if I could trust his behaviour.

Your kitty's are all beautiful Smile

Harry1603 · 08/06/2014 13:33

I'm new to AIBU (I've lurked for ages though!) but I couldn't resist posting on this thread - all the cats are gorgeous! I'm a frustrated mad cat lady as my cat (Harry) won't let anyone else move in!

Bettercallsaul1 · 08/06/2014 14:44

You've clearly got a cat who knows his own mind, Harry 1603.

He obviously can't bear to share you with anyone - the ultimate compliment!

Harry1603 · 08/06/2014 15:54

I'd like to think that's the reason but I think it's more likely because he's been bullied in the past! He was a stray who was apparently fighting the local cats (yeah right, there's not a mark on him - obviously a fast runner!) and when he was caught and taken to a foster home he was bullied by the other foster cat. It used to take his food and toys and he still hates ginger cats now!

PhaedraIsMyName · 08/06/2014 16:07

It's such a relief to see mad cat lady syndrome being normalised.

fromthesofa · 08/06/2014 16:19

These are my 2 babies, she is not actually screaming but she has a tendency to yawn when the camera is pointed at her Grin
