To not drink on a Friday night

Out for a meal last night with some friends, I took the car, as soon as this was apparent I was met with "oh no, you haven't got the car have you?" And and interrogation as to "why" I had the car followed. None of these women have a DC to get up with in the morning while their DH is off at work and anyway, does that even matter, do I HAVE to have a drink? How is this affecting the enjoyment of your night?

See, if you had a drink, you wouldn't still be wound up this morning! Grin
Seriously Yanbu, take no notice, worse things happen :)

Lilaclily · 07/06/2014 07:54

Maybe they thought you needed to relax ;)

BrokenToeOuch · 07/06/2014 07:55

Of course Yanbu. I regularly drive on nights out for the exact same reason. Maybe half of all my nights out.
No one mentions it other than at the end of the night when they all want taxi-ing home Grin

ContinentalKat · 07/06/2014 07:56

Yanbu, it doesn't. But the fact that you are not drinking reminds your friends that they are drinking too much. Uncomfortable for them. They need to grow up, you're fine and not hungover today Grin

YANBU obviously - up to you when/if you drink.
I disagree with ContinentalKat, though. Big difference between drinking too much and drinking too much to drive. I don't see any reason why the women would feel guilty - they may not be drinking too much, and if they are they may be happy with that on a night out. Why shouldn't they be? It's not about maturity either I don't think.
OP INBU to not drink, friends ANBU to drink.
