What extra classes would you like your children to have? Sort of pre-school to prep age. Languages? Music? Arts? Do you think having dc playing a piano recital at 7 is too much? What about sending dc to 'Chinese school' on a Saturday? Is this wrong? Personally, I think you are only a child once but am I wrong?

Whatever they showed an interest. I want as many opportunities to be open to them as possible, but I can't and won't try to force them into anything. That said, I'd also want to avoid letting them try any and all activities only just to drop them a few weeks later - I'd want there to be a genuine interest and commitment beforehand so they weren't just doing things on a whim and then dropping them just as quickly.

I think they have enough 'sitting down and concentrating' time at school these days so I have steered them away from French lessons and music for now. Anything they want to do that involves running around, fantastic, though no more than 2 or 3 things. They need time at home to decompress, especially DS who, at 5, finds all the being good at school enough of a pressure! And also to play with each other.

We found streetdance was a bit too complicated at age 4, though of course it depends on the lesson. Gymnastics is great for general physical activity and both enjoy it.

I'm thinking Krav Maga for my wee girl Grin

The thought of her clod hopping about in a ballet dress makes us laugh but who knows it's way to early to decide :)
