To think there is something a bit off with this lunch invitation?

Background: After years of being unhappy I left x last week.

The children have been saying things to him i.e why weren't we allowed to take any furniture. Why can he afford holidays but not dd1's school trip etc. He thinks this has come from me. It has not. They are both very smart girls capable of making their own observations.

They see SIL a few times a year. In all of their life they have never been invited for Sunday lunch. Until now.

There is more to this than wanting to feed them roast chicken, no?

I've said they can go. I have nothing hide. I just think the timing is odd. Why now after 7 years of barely any contact?

I've mentioned before but I'm really pleased your plans have finally become reality Dooin :)
BTW the puppy wasn't italicised. So you're getting one, yes? When when when? Can we go in the morning? Can we get a big one....
etc etc...give em an inch and they take a mile :o

Congratulations OP. Smile

Once your broadband is up and running it might be worth checking out your local free cycle and freegle pages, a good friend of mine was given all sorts of things to help her get on her feet after she fled her abusive ex.

There is a rat cage on my local free cycle page. Grin

OO I think I might have some girly curtains and/or bedding too Dooin - (I don't suppose either of the girls would countenance Ben 10 would they? I have more "boys" stuff than girls Grin )
DH and I have promised each other that this week we will sort out all the laundry and the airing cupboard and the DCs clothes etc etc, so if we find anything I'll set it aside and if you want it, we'll bring it round. It would keep you going for a while at least.

PomBearWithAnOFRS · 25/05/2014 23:30

OO just thought - have you got saucepans/frying pan? Cos my SiL gave me a full set when she got all new ones (to match her posh redecorated kitchen Hmm so I have loads and could easily spare some...

Chippednailvarnish · 25/05/2014 23:44

I don't have much in the way of lino/showers/rats Grin but I'm happy to send you cups and stuff!

D0oinMeCleanin · 26/05/2014 00:29

I have saucepans. I have an Asda smart price frying pan. I've only used it twice and it already looks set for the bin. It lied about being non stick Sad

We are not getting a puppy. We fostered a puppy for a while not long ago. Dd1 wanted to send her back after the first day. Dd2 loved her for three days then kept asking when Ruby would stop playing. They love the idea of a puppy. Neither are keen on the reality Grin

Dd2 would love Ben 10. Dd1 would probably move out. They share a room.

Dd1 wants me to make her some Nyan cat curtains but the cost of the material means they'll likely be a xmas present. I could do plain blue and add a Nyan cat trim once we are more sorted.

I'll pm you when I get to the bottom of the airing cupboard Grin - today it has taken us all day to be able to get the door open (of the airing cupboard and DDs bedroom Confused )
