To not send DD to school tomorrow?

DD(15) has a hospital appointment for her currently broken foot tomorrow at 11am. Due to the timing of this she'd only be at school for 50 mins in the morning, 50 mins after the appointment, then lunch followed by PE. Now obviously she can't participate in PE so it's a bit pointless in her going into school just to sit on a field doing nothing. DD also had very bad period pains and is extremely tired as she has just finished her year 10 exams. So AIBU to let her have a lie on tomorrow morning and a relaxed afternoon off school?

YANBU, let her rest Grin

greenfolder · 20/05/2014 21:00

sounds sensible to me!

whatchatalkinboutwillis · 20/05/2014 21:06

I'm sure she'll be very happy when I tell her Grin

Let her stay home. Poor thing. Thanks

Polyethyl · 20/05/2014 21:12

Necessary recuperation.

ICanSeeTheSun · 20/05/2014 21:14

Let her stay at home, Rest paracetamol and hot wattle bottle at the ready.

Infact I would allow her to have the rest of the week off, with half term coming up it would do her ankle a world of good.

whatchatalkinboutwillis · 20/05/2014 21:27

ICan she's now lying on the sofa with her duvet, the dog and painkillers. Bit worried though as she says her foot is hurting more than it did before she got a walking boot put on it so really hoping it hasn't got any worse

Awwww bless her.

YABU and a bad bad bad cruel Mother for even thinking about making that poor child go to school tomorrow! Shame on you, and I think that her breakfast in bed will just about begin to make it up to her for the trauma you have put her through while she waited to find out if she had to go or not... Grin Grin Wink

whatchatalkinboutwillis · 20/05/2014 22:59

She wouldn't be allowed off for the rest of the week :( The school would have a fit

PomBearWithAnOFRS · 20/05/2014 23:13

Just politely ask the school if they can guarantee her foot will not be knocked at all, or damaged further in any way while she's there, and let them know you'll sue their arses off if it is - that'll make them rethink their hissy fit Wink

whatchatalkinboutwillis · 20/05/2014 23:17

pombear I like your thinking...

Keep her off of courseSmile

Hope she feels better soon.

YANBU, DD2 had a couple of days off for fracture clinic appointments.

It's a long way and she got new casts that needed to dry.

No point in rushing back to sit out PE.

I wouldn't do the rest of the week, she'll be climbing the walls, with half term as well.

whatchatalkinboutwillis · 21/05/2014 12:25

Just got back from the hospital DD is extremely happy as she got the walking boot off - she was worried that she'd get funny tanlines Grin and she'll be able to do DofE in a few weeks, as well as not having to do pe for the next month.

WaitMonkey · 21/05/2014 15:08

Grin at tan lines. I'd keep her off the next couple of day's. Foot needs rest and it's almost half term.
