To travel on a damaged passport?

We were really looking forward to taking our boys away for a cheap break abroad. Unfortunately my dogs got hold of our passports from a slightly open drawer and set to work! My dh had expired anyway, ds1 was due for renewal so not too bad. They got hold of mine too though with five years left. They have chewed the corner. No damage to photo or chip. The laminate has raised a bit though. Not around the edges but there is a bubble around the photo. No details are damaged. Just a torn corner and a few teethmarks!

We have to buy three new passports which is screwing our budget. Another one is going to be a big no no and we'll have to leave it this year. Hmm

Does anyone know about this please?

Thanks in advance

I think you need to ring the PPt office and ask, tbh, because if you got stopped and refused travel, it would be awful.

It might need to be replaced if the laminate is raised am afraid. There's then the possiblity for photo substitution. Policy can be found here

Oh. That's not good. I'd get a new one.

is it worth claiming on your house insurance? That said, a passport is £77 odd and most excesses are higher than that.

Are you close to a passport office or airport and take it in and ask.
