Not an AIBU but posting here for some quick advice.
Just left London on a coach and its boiling! I'm alone with my 9 month old dd and she's already drank 10oz of weak squash. I have another cup filled with 8oz then I'm done. There's a service station stop in an hour and a half... What's the best thing I could buy? Obviously no fizzy stuff!
She refuses plain water even when thirsty and before I get slammed for giving her squash, I was advised to by the gp as she was getting badly constipated.
She only has milk in the morning and at bedtime so I didn't bring any with me.
Any advice will be appreciated!

Non of my 3 dds would ever drink water no matter how thirsty they were. It's Ok they are all fine and well.

Is there a secret game of "Thread Twat" going on at the moment? Confused

apple juice mixed with Tap water. Or dare I say it if you are desperate, a fruit shoot. My little one only had water and I watched as the first fruit shoot was given at about eight month. It was guzzled down in pretty much one go. At least then not dehydrated....

I would prefer water but when it's hot anything goes as long as it's wet and cold. (No more beer though)

Main issue is hydration.

One or 2 drinks of less than optimal water/juice in an emergency isn't going to cause a major health issue.

Judgey pants only allowed to be worn if you were planning to give her coke (of either kind!).

My Grannie used to buy me and my DB a 4 pack of snowballs. She was doing it for months when we slept. I had tasted one and loved it so she was buying them as a treat. My DM came one night when I was 6 and DB was 3 and we looked iffy. We had drunk a 4 pack between us. She had no idea they had alcohol in as she's never took a drink in 90 years.

All is well. Dd had some diet coke and loved it! Grin
Jokes aside she had bottled water with a bit of apple juice in it and is fast asleep at my mums. Panic over! Thanks (almost) everyone for the reassurance.

I back the idea of water and fruit juice to dilute! DS used to get constipated a lot at that age and it always worked a treat (and to reassure you at age nearly 5 he now drinks water happily!)
