I have an interview for a care home assisitant manager job on Tuesday.

Its been suggested that I swot up on safeguarding issues and the role of the DBS.

I've looked at the DBS website etc but there's so much information and I'm worried I won't be able to talk about it knowledgably in relation to my possible new role.

Can anyone help? starting to panic, despite having a nice frock to wear

The Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) helps employers make safer recruitment decisions and prevent unsuitable people from working with vulnerable groups, including children. It replaces the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) and Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA).

You will not be expected to know too much detail about the DBS but you will be expected to have in depth knowledge of safe guarding. I think you need to focus on that and CQC outcomes, Person centred approach, equality & dignity and such.

Do you have any experience of working in care?

You will find more relevant information about Safeguarding on the CQC website (sorry am on phone so can't link)

Also look into your local authorities (or the local authority of the job your going for if different) safe guarding policies, boards etc.

Good luck
