My husband is quite an introvert person and he rarely goes out. in the 15 years I have known him he has gone out probably twice a year without me and home at 10pm the latest.
He went for a drink last night and he is still not back. this is completely out of character. I have called him and sent him texts but no answer.

Should I call 101? this is absolutely and completely out of character. I am so stressed and worried.

please help. !

You mean, what if he had a health problem? Yes, that's a bit scary. But the same could happen on a train I suppose, unless the person was getting their ticket checked. Then they get woken up by the conductor.

No conspiracy theories here Toby - imagine the DH was a little more inebriated than he's letting on! All's well that ends well though.

I know someone who is drunk a lot and they fell asleep for hours on a circular bus service in London so it can happen

Iamfree · 17/05/2014 09:44

Thanks all, he is still sleeping. as I said my only concern with letting people sleep on the bus is that they might feel unwell.

An old work colleague of mine used to do this all the time. Would get v pissed and then fall into a stupor on the night bus. He would regale us the next day with tales of where he had ended up this time. Looking back he was very fortunate to have remained unscathed.

TFL policy (so my bus driver friend tells me) is that drivers do not leave the cab except in an emergency. In fact, if you do you can be disciplined. So I suppose the driver was going to leave your DH to sleep until the shift ended and the bus went to the garage.

My DH once fell asleep on a train after a night out - he'd gotten the last train home at about 11pm & only woke up when I phoned him. He was an hour further south & if I hadn't called he'd have ended up in London. Luckily he was able to get off & get the last train going in the opposite direction. Needless to say I called him every 20 minutes until he got off the train.

It easily happens - glad he's home safe.
