To wonder what "it'll be ready on Friday" actually means? (mostly lighthearted)

Took DH's suit to the dry cleaners on Tuesday. "It'll be ready on Friday" said the man.

Went in about 10:30 this morning, to receive an incredulous look and be told "But it's not ready yet!"

AIBU to think that if I'm told I can pick something up on a day three days hence, that they'll use the intervening two days to do what they need to so I can pick it up in the morning, rather than only starting the job on the deadline day so I can't pick it up until nearly closing time?

Definitely not! Friday is allll day, or so I thought anyway. They should say Friday afternoon if that's what they mean, although then I would have probably turned up at noon and been too early!

Grrr, I'd expect it to be ready any time on Friday, and for them to do that thing where they pretend like they remember you and have been greatly looking forward to your arrival.

many chains don't clean on the premises, they have a daily van. He might have assumed you knew (or the sign on the door said) what time of day things will be ready (after unloading and hanging the delivery of clean stuff)
