To wonder when my 2.8yr old is going to stop dribbling

Honestly he is like the dog out of turner & hooch. Big streams of drool come out of his mouth and has done constantly for the last year or so. To start off with I though it was & that he would grow out of it but now not so sure. It has started to cause a rash around his mouth.

When is it going to stop?

Has he got all his teeth?

Geraldthegiraffe · 13/05/2014 09:32

We have this but its due to v large tonsils... apparently they don't take them out anymore

My DS was a dribbler. He stopped dribbling as such at about 3. He is 6 now and still slurps back his dribble occasionally when reading but it hasn't been a problem.

The reason why I asked is because my daughter 2.5 is the same and she snores like no ones business. We went to the doctors yesterday and we also was told it was down to big tonsils and that she would hopefully grow out of it. Costs me a fortune in dribble bibs. Wink

curiousuze · 14/05/2014 08:24

God, don't tell me this. I have an 18 month old who soaks a bib an hour. They don't stop till they're three??

Albertatata · 14/05/2014 13:38

Sorry for delay in responding. I pretty sure he has all his teeth & not noticed a problem with tonsils but may have a look, not a snorer - just drool, drool, drool!

My ds was like this and eventually outgrew it but it did take a long, long time. They recommend teaching them to drink with a straw as it helps them swallow in a different way apparently.
