I've started swimming 2-4 times a week, 30-40 lengths of 25m pool and I swear it's making me bigger- I've just tipped the scales at half a stone heavier than 6 weeks ago. How can this be????

I wonder what it is about swimming that provokes the appetite so muchConfused
it's like the exercise equivalent of cannabis :o

Yep- I never want to eat straight after running and not cake etc!! We could have done an experiment with body temperature thing to see if the 4 without wetsuits ate more. Then again, the biscuits were posh lemon and ginger ones... And homemade cake......Grin

kaizen you clearly have a nice safe sea-location to swim? not a million miles from teh dutch northern series of islands here but have been very heavily warned off swimming there but absolutely love seaswimming (at least when my overactive imagination isn't conjouring up the one single giant squid in all the north sea whose tentacles are writhing upwards for my legs). Silly imagination aside, I really miss it, its way tougher and more satisfying than swimming baths

Well thanks to the motivation given here I managed 50 lengths today with some runs of crawl with tumble turns! Though only can manage three with turns at mo before my arms feel like they're going to fall off. Barely any stopping at ends just switching to breaststroke and backstroke for a rest. I think if I drink less wine and start a bit of jogging I might shed the half a stone!! Any more great swimming tips?
Ps every time I do a tumble turn it makes me smile underwater, they're so fun
