I know these don't usually go well but wondering if IABU to think person parking in this space was abit off.

Our local co-op has a car park next to it but its owned by the council rather than the co-op so you don't have to be shopping there to park in it.

I parked there to go to a toddler group and i tend to park in a normal space to leave the child spaces (there are only 2) free for people with kids and shopping.

Anyway when i was walking out of car park i noticed that a lady with a co-op uniform on was getting out of a car she'd just parked in the child space. she had no kids with her.

When i came back a couple of hours later her car was still in the space and she was actually at work in the co-op.

AIBU to think that staff should at least leave these spaces for the convinience of shoppers

Why did you even notice? Why are you bothered? Why come and start a thread about it?

Why, why WHY?

slithytove · 12/05/2014 20:07

I saw this in the tesco carpark. I wouldn't have noticed but it's a car I covet, so it was there when I started my shop. Over an hour later, when I left, I saw the staff member who had served me at the checkout drive off.

I was like [hmmm] I didn't complain but was tempted, purely because I didn't manage to get a space that day, and I do need one due to 1 year old in the back of a 3 door, plus pregnancy and various mobility issues of my own.

Hmm
slithytove · 12/05/2014 20:11

I wish wish wish the p&c spaces were at the back. As long as they were near the trolley park with kids trolleys, and near a safe walk way to the shop, I couldn't care less how far they are. I'd hobble as slowly as I needed to make sure I could get my son out of my car safely and without damaging bits of me further.

Smitten1981 · 12/05/2014 20:20

Maybe we should start a 'Supermarkets: Put your P&C spaces at the back of the car park' campaign!

BeyondRepair · 12/05/2014 20:35

Just complain to co op.

Why not?

OP YANBU

This nothing to do with legal entitlement and everything to do with common courtesy. Sadly, some people are selfish & self absorbed.

Tweasels - May I suggest you follow your own advice. Why notice this thread? Why are YOU even bothered? Why, why, why?

Chottie · 12/05/2014 21:12

I personally would not be bothered with thinking about a parking space

Icimoi · 12/05/2014 21:13

Doing, it's always a good idea to read the OP's post properly before you start slagging her off. And you dare to call her entitled!

One of my pet hates round here is people who make up what others have said just so that they can attack them.

Doingakatereddy · 12/05/2014 22:29

I can call OP whatever I like.

The whole parent and baby parking entitlement is annoying. Yes ladies, you've had a baby - well done. But people may be going through things in their lives which are more important that your precious bundles.

OP - I stand by my view, butt out of other peoples lives & get on with your own

ChaosTrulyReigns · 12/05/2014 22:36

katereddy, I'm just wondering if that sentence could possibly, maybe, perhaps, potentially be said towards you and your engagement with this thread? cough.

Wink

Doingakatereddy

You'd still have more of a point if you'd read the post properly.

But don't let accuracy get in the way of your little rant.

MidniteScribbler · 12/05/2014 23:14

Ignoring the p&c space, I don't like seeing employees parked in all the close spots. Every shopping centre I know requires employees to park either in designated staff spots or at the back of the carparks. Unless you have a disability, if you're going to be there all day, then park at the back and walk.
