To take my own shampoo & conditioner to the hairdressers?

Just wondering if this would be too strange to do this with the hairdresser I go to...?

I don't like the brand they use - it's full of sulphates and crap and I prefer using another from home which leaves my hair much shinier and my scalp with a cleaner feeling.

Blimey. There's a whole world of expensive shampoos out there.

I forgot my conditioner on holiday in Istanbul and DH volunteered to get some for me. He couldn't be arsed to shop around so came back with something from the hotel hairdressing salon which cost £14 for 250ml.

It was nearly 20 years ago.

It was quite nice. Not £14-worth of nice...

I take my own shampoo and conditioner just because I much prefer it to those used by the salons. It is not cheap, but not especially expensive, it just suits my hair and is not one used by anyone I know and certainly not by salons.

When I had to change salons due to my regular hairdresser leaving, I always checked when phoning for an initial appointment. Those salons who were funny about it, didn't get my custom.

They won't care but it is a bit... strange. Esp as you just use L'Oreal and not emulsified goji berries or something

Not weird, I've seen people do this before. The salon won't mind at all.

Sulphate free for me too. I usually make my own but had given away most of my supplies to family when we met up for a wedding, and as had to wait for mine to cure, I bought a bottle of baby shampoo and what a mistake that was. My cheeks went red and burned for ages.

I take my own as the salon's make my scalp itch. No problem at all.
