He keeps letting our young cats out in the evening, though I have asked him not to as we don't have a cat flap and I don't like them being out all night. Last night he let them out at 9pm, one came back at 3am (DP got up to let him in) but the other still hasn't come home. It's the longest she's ever been out and I'm really worried something bad has happened to her. I'm pregnant so I could be over reacting as I'm very anxious about everything.

Have you asked him why he keeps letting them out OP? Are they yowling at the door until her does? Honestly if you leave them out all night and let them deal with it they will either be very up for doing it again or, which was the case with my kittens, they'll stick close to home and not want to go out after dark.

Hopefully she'll come home soon, she's probably fallen asleep somewhere.

Why don't you get a cat flap?

In general cats are much more active at night and nocturnal. Mine just sleep all day and play at night Grin

I like my cats in on an evening because like you we don't have a cat flap and I like to know where they are (have them in bed for a snuggle Smile)I wouldn't worry too much though as already mentioned I bet the cat has found an awesome napping/birdwatching spot! I always find shaking some biscuits and hanging one of their blankets on bye gate/fence reminds them where home is.
