I'm an American here living here because I have dual nationality with an EU country.

I am married to my dh I have lived here for years but moved away 5 years ago and we came back this year. I have not been in the country long enough to apply for citizenship.

So what the fuck happens to me if you leave the EU?

What happens to knob head I mean Nigel Farage's German wife?

Btw, apart from the cost, the application process is pretty stressful -the home office has a "service level" of 6 months, before the expiry of which you're not allowed to chase your application. When they took my £874 in February and I still haven't had a reference number or acknowledgment of receipt 2 months later I phoned (and they don't make it easy to find that number) I got told off for not waiting until the 6 months were up.

Knowing that they send all correspondence second class and give you only 21 days to respond to a query, or in the case of a successful application book your ceremony before they bin your application (but keep the money), I found that a bit worrisome, as a request for info, or successful notification could have got lost in the post without me knowing anything about it.

Also, if they make a mistake on your certificate, you have to wait until you received it at the ceremony, to send it back with a copy of your passport to prove that there was a mistake. It is impossible to correct mistakes beforehand, and why they need another copy of my passport, when they've got all my documents on file, I don't quite understand. They will waive the £85 correction fee if the error was theirs (which in the mispelling of a name it clearly is!), however no word of reimbursement of the postage (obviously you'd send important documents like that recorded only)

The customer service is the shoddiest I've ever experienced. I guess it's to be expected, as you can't just go and take your custom elsewhere.
