moderators are a bunch of robots. I recently reported a stop breastfeeding in public page. No, doesn't break community standards. Neither does the racist page I reported this morning. Surely real people would take a look and make a sensible decision and whilst I know that everyone is entitled to their opinion, those that describe breastfeeding as 'mouthrape' of a baby (I kid you not) and blame all societies ills on being controlled by Muslims, is trashy nonsense and hate speech. Grrrrr!
Unfortunately, because I rarely get out of the house, faceache is a good way to keep in touch with my family. Bloody hate it though.

The breast feeding one is an obvious joke/troll page.

Facebook generally won't take down something unless it's nudity, gore, or illegal activities. The rest is free speech for the most part. They can't go taking down every page because people are "offended", or we'd have no pages.

Just don't click the page or like it. You won't see it unless you go to it. Wink

They don't take nudity down either. I reported a picture of a woman nude on the back of a truck facing the traffic behind it masturbating. Apparently that doesn't break their standards either. I also deleted the prick who'd liked it so it appeared on my newsfeed.

ThePriory · 09/05/2014 12:33

Don't look at the pages or have a reaction at all. It only encourages them.

Sallyingforth · 09/05/2014 12:36

I have a guaranteed, foolproof way of never being offended by anything posted on Facebook.
Perhaps some others could try it.

A young girl was killed in a drunk-driver car crash here recently and a troll set up a page making fun of her death. They doctored photos of her, posted up some really, really, disgusting comments, made fun of her family, etc.

Thousands of people reported the page to FB but they refused to take it down. The police got involved, and still they refused to take it down

dawndonnaagain · 09/05/2014 13:09

Sallying As I said, it's a convenient way of keeping in touch with my family. Particularly my disabled ds who is away at uni and needs nightly support.

Stinkle That is just disgusting! The poor family.

dawndonna Fine. Then you will have to accept the 'robot' moderators. You can't really complain about a free service that is organised for its own benefit rather than yours.

Email is also convenient and doesn't need moderation.
