Anybody have them? I really really want one... Just don't imagine how much a proper one costs. There such a variety of prices

I have a micro scooter kick board and it's fab, I don't ever look back. Go for it

I have one to keep up and use it when we go on holiday (I'd use it here but know I look like an idiot). Dh has one and loves it - he's reliving his skateboarding days and doing all sorts of stunts. I think that anyone of my generation will look like an idiot on them but our children will all have them when they're adults as they use them all the time so why on earth would they ditch them when Micro does amazing teen and adult ones? Walking is way slower......

I had a Razor A5 Lux for a bit. The plan was to park further away from workplace (no on-street parking or very expensive carpark) but still to be able to get in on time. Sadly I wimped out on it, it felt seriously fast! But it would have been very practical, it folded up and could have gone into a bag/cupboard/under a desk.

Go for it!

Do what you want, as long as you pay regard to others safety. If anyone wants to judge or make sneery comments then that says more about themselves than it does about you.

I'm seriously thinking of buying one, like a pp, for part of my commute.

Maybe a silly question but can you use the cycle lane?

LaurieFairyCake · 20/05/2014 17:09

How are all you folk in your 60's on one Confused

Are you all former athletes?

I'd fall off and I'm younger than that - I can barely manage to walk never mind do skateboard/scooter stuff.

They look really difficult Confused

BookieTubules · 20/05/2014 17:09

I have one (and am about to head off home on it so must be quick). Micro Flex Blue. Brilliant.

I wouldn't use the cycle lane - they aren't road worthy and you'll be going slower than bicycles. Much safer on the pavement.

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 20/05/2014 17:10

"almost as gut wrenchingly clingy as those bikes with kids being towed on them"

What, for transport? Shocking.

DocDaneeka · 20/05/2014 17:15

I did exactly what where you left it did

Except I followed through!

I have been communing scooting happily for 18 months now. Love it - so convenient. I have a helmet, and lights for winter. Don't care if I look a nob. It's fast and fun. And the scooter lives happily under my desk when at work and in the car boot when not.

I am considerate, but get shouted at anyway by pedestrians that I should be on the road, and honked by drivers and told to go on pavement ( Highway Code says pavement) I am as fast as a moderate cyclist, so tend do go on the road for the fast or crowded stretches.

Is this a new trend? Are pavements going to get full of people on scooters? great.
