I'm fucking furious, dp threw away my basil plant. He has been saying he wanted to throw it away for weeks and I told him not to throw it away as I use it. His reason for throwing it away was that he never used it.

I am pregnant and aware I might absolutely be being irrational.

Wibu to throw away every stupid belonging that I dislike or think is useless? On my list I have his 100's of DVDs his collection of books that he never intends to reread, some truely hideous ties, his computer games, I'll keep the x-box so I can still watch Netflix. I won't throw them in the bin I'll take them to the charity shop.

It was a great basil plant, it was only one of those shop bought ones and it cost about 4 bloody quid (stupidly expensive prices here) so I was trying to use it little and often to let new leaves grow.

Friday is my day off and I had planned to spend the day tidying and sorting stuff out but he did all that so I just have a poorly ds to entertain, he's napping so I get to mumsnet, I feel he has redeamed himself a little!

I am considering buying lots of different herbs to dot around the house, I did like the idea of the tie-basil plant, I'm not very crafty, maybe toddler ds could have a go ;)

you can root basil fairly easily in water, take off a longish stalk, then take off the bottom leaves and put the stalk into water, the roots will grow from where the leaves were joined, roots should appear in a week or so. Then you can have lots more basil plants.

Glad he rescued the plant. Tbh- i'd have chucked his stuff. Rightly or wrongly- i hate that sort of logic "it's irrelevant to me so it goes". So i'd feed him his own medicine.

Does he have a car he loves? If so, scatter basil seeds over the back seat, water lightly and leave in a sunny place. Your basil will thrive and you will be single and happy. Unfortunately he will take the basil plantation car with him
