and not me? He's not a closet tory, do they just not expect any women to vote for them?

I haven't been sent any either OnlyLovers. We can be billynomates together!

HauntedNoddyCar · 06/05/2014 17:22

Oh hang on. I don't use DH's surname.

They're presumably ignoring Mrs where there's a Mr to be had.

FairPhyllis · 06/05/2014 17:25

My mum got one but not my dad. Her name is before his in the alphabet, that might be it.

vladthedisorganised · 06/05/2014 17:28

Same here. I was going to confront DH with it - "There's a whole side to you I never knew - where is the man I married? Wah!"

HarpyFishwifeTwat · 06/05/2014 17:28

At big elections each party gets freepost leaflets that they can send to everyone on the electoral register. In order to maximise their reach they tend to try to send a named leaflet to each person in a household (or to the first two). DH got his today - he is before me on the electoral register. Expect your own special Tory leaflet soon.

OnlyLovers · 06/05/2014 17:52

MrsDmitri, thank goodness I'm not alone! Grin

Anniegetyourgun · 06/05/2014 17:56

I got one. I feel dirty.

softlysoftly · 06/05/2014 17:58

Yours get personally addressed?

Ours just get shoved through the door to unnamed with the farmfoods and pizza hut menus.

mind I've only had Plaid Cymru and UKIP so far.

itsatiggerday · 06/05/2014 18:01

All these worries about whether you've voted for them in the past - you do all know that it's a secret ballot in this country don't you? They don't know who you've voted for unless you wrote and told them.

ChillieJeanie · 06/05/2014 18:02

Harpy is right - there will be a second mailing later in the campaign which will be addressed to the second named in the household, and it will be a different leaflet to this one. It's the way it is done by the three main parties in most national elections. If they send an unnamed mailing they can only hit a household once.

whatsagoodusername · 06/05/2014 18:17

I got a BNP one. We've had UKIP, Labour, Tory all through the door, but the BNP actually had my name on it.

I am an immigrant. Think they may have made a mistake.

Coulsonlives · 06/05/2014 18:28

Dh got a Tory one today. Dd1 asked if I was divorcing him....

AlexReidsLonelyBraincell · 06/05/2014 18:28

I think the people who are horrified by it are being light-hearted, I don't think people are actually taking it seriously. I'm certainly not.

KissesBreakingWave · 06/05/2014 18:30

I know an immigrant who got a personally addressed BNP one too. I reckon it's the spineless chickenshit BNP version of burning a cross on the lawn.

Fluffycloudland77 · 06/05/2014 18:32

Dh got one but I didn't.

softlysoftly · 06/05/2014 18:50

Well kisses you just don't get the same quality of racist these days. No commitment.

Taz1212 · 06/05/2014 18:53

We've only had SNP ones to both of us and addressed to each. I'm afraid they went straight in the bin without even a passing glance.

Owllady · 06/05/2014 18:54

I got one too, but not dh
We both got lib dem

Ukip came and knocked on the door Confused

catgirl1976 · 06/05/2014 18:56

Same here! DH got one addressed to him, I did not. We are both on the electoral role. I am happy not to have had one, but a little confused

Owllady · 06/05/2014 18:59

I would like to point out I ripped it up and chucked it in the bin without reading it
I think the market research on me is particularly skewed as I have also been invited to test drive a Porsche

nagynolonger · 06/05/2014 19:04

Tory one arrived here today addressed to our 21 year old. His initial is first alphabetically out of the four who will be voting.

sittingatmydeskagain · 06/05/2014 19:06

Ah, is that what's in the envelope waiting for dh to arrive home? It says "election communication" on the postmark.

I will laugh and laugh if it is. Grin Grin Grin

Coulsonlives · 06/05/2014 19:19

Ours had a big pic of DC on.

It did remind me to vote anyone except Tory/ukip though

MelonadeAgain · 06/05/2014 19:26

I had a fecking SNP one and I immediately went out and returned it to the poster - who just happened to be the A-hole and well known cybernat who had shouted at me for running along the pavement without wearing hi-viz...whilst dressed entirely in black himself...

sittingatmydeskagain · 06/05/2014 19:41

Nope, it was Lib Dem.
