Particularly if you also have a baby?

I struggle to think of things to do and think I must be such a bad (or lazy!) mother. My creativity in thinking what to do to entertain my nearly two year old that doesn't wreck the house (painting is just horrifying) is seriously lacking. AIBU or do other people struggle?!

Also glad others have (and admit to!) cbeebies on occasionally! Dojo great website will definitely have a good browse. Seems like diving into the toddler groups is the thing to do...

My kids are bigger now (pre school and prinary) but when they were littler we:

Went to soft play - even if it was just us
Went to kids showings at cinema a couple of times
Met friends for lunch or coffee
Ds was very good at playing alone, dd wasn't and isn't!
Playing in garden - they love chalk, or a wet paint brush
Parks
Walks
Trips into town and choose a toy from £ shop
Watched TV, again ds would watch a whole movie, dd not so much!

Ah I'm glad I'm not the only one wondering what on earth to do with a baby and a toddler.

I've got a 23 month old and a 6 month old and it's getting harder to get out and about as DS1 is very stubborn and will only walk where he wants to and screams bloody murder if I manage to wrestle him into the double pram. Mostly we stay indoors and play, do puzzles, read books and watch Peppa pig. He's not interested in helping me do laundry though.

I try to go to the park every day or out somewhere if weather poo, preferably in the morning. Home for lunch then afternoons cooking, very occasionally painting or craft type stuff, cbeebies, puzzles, playdough.

That said, baby has just got mobile soon not sure how much crafting and painting could be done now. Scary thought!

2.5 yo twins here. We basically spend as much time out of the house as possible - playgroups, Gymboree, music groups, football on the local green, park/ swings, puddle splashing in the alleyway near our house, or just playing in the garden.

They go to a preschool 2 mornings a week and do lots of painting/messy play there so none of that at home. If we are doing baking or playdough, we sit at the dining table and they are strapped in their booster seats so mess is contained. We have an easel which they love to draw on, paper or whiteboard. Also aquadraw is a good no-mess option

Duplo / megabloks keep them occupied for a good 1/2 hour as do sticker books for DD ( DS isn't bothered about stickers).

Dancing, singing and bashing musical instruments. And yes, cbeebies now and then too!
