To take these shoes back?

Mil took me and ds to buy him his first pair of shoes. This was last week and he's only worn them for about 15 minutes most of them inside on carpet and a couple of minutes outside.
They already look scuffed in front and I'm not very happy about it. Mil paid £25 for these shoes and I think they shouldn't scuff within minutes.

So can I take them back or will I be laughed out of the shop?

When I say last week I mean on Thursday.

Do you mean they're scuffed on the top or front, as in not on the sole?

If they are rubbed against something rough then they are going to scuff. It doesn't happen on it's own, and it doesn't only happen after they have been owned for a month first.

Are they first shoes? I mean like clarks crawlers type shoes?

PansOnFire · 27/04/2014 21:50

My DS's first shoes looked scuffed up from the day we got them, the shop said it was just the way the leather was. You could try going back to the shop, the worst they can do is refuse a refund.

Waltonswatcher1 · 27/04/2014 21:53

What make ?
I don't think they should wear shoes indoors anyway . Surely it's better for the feet to move freely whenever possible .
The most important thing is the fit though . Are you happy with that and could you polish off the scuff ?

CrushingCandies · 27/04/2014 21:55

Yes they are cruisers from clarks.
And yes scuffed on top.

I know it does happen but it was literally minutes and they look a bit tatty now. I guess I was a bit disappointed really stupid I know but it's a lot of money.

This is his first pair he is nearly 1. I just put them on him so he could get used to them.

Take them back , make an issue of it as that's poor quality .

Girlwithnotattoos · 27/04/2014 22:03

Buy some shoe polish and get used to applying it every day, I have to do this with dd's shoes, it only takes a minute but hides the scuffs.

GhoulWithADragonTattoo · 27/04/2014 22:03

If they are cruisers (not crawlers) then I don't see why they should scuff on the top after such a short time. Has your DC been crawling outside in them? I think I'd take them back anyway it's not really good enough.

MisForMumNotMaid · 27/04/2014 22:05

I think I'd take them back to the shop to ask advice hoping they'd exchange.

jacks365 · 27/04/2014 22:05

I had the same issue this time last year. The shoes looked awful very quickly. I solved it by vowing never to buy clarks again.

ginmakesitallok · 27/04/2014 22:05

Sorry, but if you're going to take shoes back because they get scuffed you are going to be spending a hell of a lot of time in shoe shops in the coming years.

PotPourri · 27/04/2014 22:08

I never had many problems with clarks. But if you aren't happy, take them back, why not. They will prob swap for you as they're good on customer service. I'm a bit of a wimp so would probably keep them - but that's just me
