I am naturally frugal and always check receipts etc to ensure I am not being overcharged etc. I am virtually a sahm but do have access to joint funds.
Dh rarely checks receipts. Frequently he is overcharged but lets it go as it's not worth the hassle for a couple of quid etc.
Last week a car drove into the back of him but didn't exchange details as it was only a number plate.
He spends far more money than I do on himself. £400 for a football season ticket for example and probably the same amount again on lego. I know
Whilst I was away at a work conference he spent £120 on a console for ds2 as ds1 had one and they were arguing. So basically did it for a quiet life without even consulting me.
Whereas when I wanted to join a gym at £40 per month which also included free swimming for our 3dc we suddenly couldn't afford it.
Aibu to think we could afford it if he was more careful.
I know some people on here will probably say you could afford more if you worked more. Well the cost of childcare would wipe out my earnings.
When I discuss ideas I have for my business all I get is negatively.

YANBU. You have one income and 3 children. He needs to be more careful and treat himself a bit less. Can you sit him down, tell him you are concerned about the family financial situation at the moment and ask if the two of you can agree some spending ground rules? You can do it in a neutral sort of way, so as not to be seen to be blaming him for anything. Would he be receptive to this? Does he save at all?

He have some longer term savings which were my historic tessa and isas and a small amount instant access.
Hopefully will be able to have a conversation soon.

Yanbu in any way.
Did I read that right - £400 on lego? fucking lego for a grown man??
I'd pay for the gym without consulting him tbh - it's equal to his season ticket AND the dcs get something out of it too.
What a selfish twat he sounds.

Probably nearer 200 on his stuff. Other 200 on kids stuff. Thank you for replies.
