... if you want the web with suction cups that came with it, please do drop me a line and I'll put it in the post for you.

Free! Postage Paid! Because why the fuck should you pay for the postage so I can reunite the accessory with the beloved figure my DC (4) was playing with mere minutes earlier?!?

What stupid sillies we were - dashing out to a film. You found it on a table at Spur (steak place) at Lakeside last night and decided you needed it more than my heart-broken child.

Mind, just for the record, we're not best pleased with the Spur staff who cleared the table - how they failed to spot a 5" screaming red-and-blue action figure whilst apparently cleaning a table (to a level food hygiene chappies would like to see) I'm not sure, but that's another thing.

But the people whom I'm really addressing here are the colossally selfish gits who (at best, merely colossally stupidly) thought that maybe a Spiderman comes free with a meal in a restaurant completely unaffiliated with Marvel.

Bottom line, it's called Theft by Finding. Hope This Helps.

You sound caught in a web of angst.

Needingthework · 27/04/2014 18:19

But the staff may not have seen it if it had fallen on the floor, been pinched by another child rather quickly, etc.

DS3 lost a toy at my works Christmas party. He was 2 and it was a much loved toy (Mack from Cars). We couldn't find it at the end of the party and he was upset. My manager then told me that another child had taken it after the mum had asked if it belonged to someone else. My manager didn't recognise it as a company toy and so told the child he could keep it.

DS3 was fine once I told him that Father Christmas would bring him another - luckily he did.

I agree with others - just have to write it off. Your DS has another which I presume he is happy with Smile

He might still be there hiding behind all that awful colouring that those bastards give out.

LynetteScavo · 27/04/2014 18:23

I've lost a few of my dc'a toys / clothes over the years. I've always blamed myself. I've never lamented; someone stole it!!! because we were never mugged, I was simply slightly careless Hell I felt I'd done a good job if if I came home with all 3 DC

But, BTW, that's why I'm pondering if it wasn't sheer stupidity, but somebody out-and-out-ing theft. I'd gone back with the"ahh! my kid might have left .... " face and demeanour and there was no recognition of the concept.

So perhaps there's a Marvel geek who works there. P

Perhaps there's an inefficient bus-boy AND an avaricious next-family.... Whateva

But, of the apathetics amongst you. I truly despair.

JeggingsHateMe · 27/04/2014 18:26

Or perhaps it was taken before the staff cleared up your family's mess?! Maybe they never even knew it existed? Don't let that stop you looking silly naming and shaming though.

HaroldLloyd · 27/04/2014 18:26

Maybes you could get in the daily mail and do a bit of sadface.

LynetteScavo · 27/04/2014 18:26

Stop blaming everyone else for what is ultimately your responsibility and your fault. In your heart you I think you know this.

YABVU to blame staff for not noticing it when, when you and your DC failed to notcie it was missing. Why should they be he,d to a higher standard than the toys owners?

RayPurchase · 27/04/2014 18:34

So did you take your 4yo to see spiderman 2? Shock

OwlCapone · 27/04/2014 18:34

BTW, that's why I'm pondering if it wasn't sheer stupidity, but somebody out-and-out-ing theft.

You aren't pondering it at all, you've launched into a full blown rant accusing someone of theft.

You don't seem to accept that, ultimately, you are responsible for the loss.

WTF does "somebody out-and-out-ing theft." mean anyway?

LittleBairn · 27/04/2014 18:35

That should have read 'why should they be HELD'

BelleateSebastian · 27/04/2014 18:37

Bloody hell, you're ENRAGED aren't you!!
