to tell you all how impressed I am with the NHS?

I had a colonoscopy today (had a thread on that yesterday).Firstly, it's Sunday and they put on extra days to clear the backlog and minimise waiting times, which I'm already impressed with. Secondly, I was really impressed with the staff. They were all, without exception, lovely, friendly, caring professional individuals, who put me at ease when I felt anxious.

Bit pointless perhaps to post that here, and I'm still a bit fuzzy in the head, but NHS often gets such bad press, I just wanted to tell you healthcare professionals out there, you are doing a great job, and it's really an organisation to be proud off.

It is posts like that this that remind me that a lot of the negative press the NHS gets are politically driven . The NHS is not without flaws; nobody who works in it would deny that, but it still does a marvellous job of looking after a whole population pretty well with a limited pot of money.
