To think that Sainsburys will be like Ocado

And totally stop sending me and money off vouchers if I sign up for their delivery pass?

I was a loyal Ocado shopper with a delivery oass. But noticed that, on review, as soon as I got it I wasn't sent anymore money off vouchers at all

So, I didn't bother renewing the pass again and have dumped Ocado. I think they have absolutely no concept of rewarding customer loyalty

I got a free three month Sainsburys' delivery pass and have been using that. Pretty much every week I get a £10 or £15 money off voucher. Plus their substitutions are so much more sensible and I don't get them turning up with absolutely no bread (I refuse to believe that Ocado have no bread in their flippin massive warehouse) and then have to run out with a13 week old and a 16 month old.

I have a voucher for a half price sainsburys' delivery pass. But worried if I take it, I'll end up with no more money off vouchers

I know this is a real first world problem but humour me!

I get Ocado money off vouchers each shop with the minimum £40 spend.

NadiaWadia · 28/04/2014 19:45

Had e-mail from Tesco just now, with a £15 off voucher. 'Yay, they have cracked. Ignoring them paid off' I thought. But just checked it, and it is for a £110 shop. I would only spend that if it was Christmas, or I had houseguests coming for a week or something. I would normally expect to spend about £50 a week, and I don't have a lot of storage space. So I shan't be using that, and they are back on the ignore list.

I wonder how they decide how much they want you to spend, when other people on this thread say they are regularly getting vouchers for a £40 or £50 spend. I wonder if it is any good ringing Tesco?

LadySybilLikesCake · 28/04/2014 19:48

Na, don't use Tesco.

NadiaWadia · 28/04/2014 19:51

Oh you mean I should stick to Ocado because they probably have more naice ham? Grin

LadySybilLikesCake · 28/04/2014 19:55

Yes, that's the one Grin

I'm not a fan of Tesco. They seem to be taking over the UK and I don't like the quality of their meat Blush

NadiaWadia · 28/04/2014 19:58

Yes, well you have a point there. Although I heard their profits went down recently.

LadySybilLikesCake · 28/04/2014 20:01

They are still everywhere. I don't think their pricing is right either. It's the Wetherspoons way of selling - buy dirt cheap, sell cheap, sell more, make more profit. I don't believe the farmers get enough for their produce because Tesco can go in and order a million pints a week.

NadiaWadia · 28/04/2014 20:06

You are quite right, LadySybil. And they recently reduced their 4 pint bottles of milk to £1. I'm guessing it won't be Tesco that takes the hit on that. I shouldn't use them really.

LadySybilLikesCake · 28/04/2014 20:09

Food is expensive though, I get that people will go where the deals are. It's a tricky one. Do we pay the farmers a fair price so they can live, meaning we can't?

I get my milk as part of a veg box delivery most of the time. It comes from local farms but it's 69p for half a litre. I'm very lucky to be able to do this, life hasn't always been like this though.

Beastofburden · 28/04/2014 20:15

Funny. I don't get any subs with my Ocado. They break one egg in a box of 12 quite often but they always give me the whole box for free if that happens so I quite look forward to it...

But no vouchers. Bastards. This anniversary I got a choice between crap cheap wine and nice chocolate, obviously I took the chocolate.

Why no vouchers, Ocado? I shop with you every week, I thought you luffed me...

violetlights · 28/04/2014 20:17

I used to get money off vouchers all the time with Ocado. Now, as a loyal customer - nothing. And what's this champagne all about?? I WANT MY CHAMPAGNE!! Angry

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 28/04/2014 20:45

I hate tescos. Although, my principles will allow me to go once or twice a year and stock up on cheap babygros and vanish etc.

The food makes me absolutely boke though - the meat always seems just in the edge of turning. Plus, I bought some ham from the deli bit last year (at a push as was en route en holiday) and was terribly ill the next day. Just what I needed whilst 28 weeks pregnant.

I have a theory that as well as ripping off farmers to keep costs down, they have their fridges etc at the highest temp possible within the law to keep their electricity bills down and it makes the food rot more quickly

I am never going back to Ocado now after sounding hundreds with them per week and getting no vouchers when I see that other posters have Angry

Why not phone Ocado and see what they say about it, Gobbolino?
