1st post on aibu. please be nice. Oh, and Im not being hysterical, just need some advice/opinions.

38 weeks pregnant, went out to hang some washing on line and what did i nearly stand in ... cat poo, i think.

Can anyone help? Sorry to be detailed but is it actually cat poo? Its dark browny grey but more grey. Its about 6 cm long and 1.5 cm in diameter (sp?).

What do I do? If i lift it with something, how do i deal with the residue? I dont have bleach in the house.

How do I stop this happening? I want DC1 who is 3 to be able to play outside but worried now.

I know cats will crap where they want and I dont know whose cat has left this particular one but i suspect it it the next door one as Ive seen that cat crap on an area we were getting turfed and it was bare soil.

Very upsetting.

Ive covered it loosely with a bag and slightly weighted it down as im scared to go near it in case the cat hasn't been wormed or had any parasite vaccination if thats what they should get.

Toxoplasmosis unlikely to be a problem at 38 weeks pregnant. And you'e almost certainly had it already anyway. I'm 18 weeks pregnant and am routinely clearing out our litter tray and my first two children have managed to be born without any serious birth defects. I use two nappy bags over my hand, pick poo, drop into third nappy bag. Then triple bag the bag of poo and drop in bin. Then wash hands thoroughly just in case. All done. No poopy hands.

Lol I know!

I had to wash all the floors as well!

Understandable why your reacting the way you are but think logically about all the creatures that probably use your garden as a lavatory - mice, birds, foxes, hedgehogs etc.

It's not nice to see an obvious lump of shite, but it's easy dealt with, and 99% of the population survive encounters with the other secretions all the time. Perspective.

YANBU. It is disgusting. It is also hard to bend down when pregnant. Also an inconvenience when not your fault.

On the toxoplasmosis thing, it takes around two weeks for the bacteria to incubate, so to speak. So "fresh" poo (Envy) shouldn't pose any danger.
It's not an over reaction, btw, I was exactly the same while I was pregnant.

Shit is gross at any time, but never more so than when it's a potentional health risk to your baby as well as you.
