to not want to go to the school reunion?

It's coming up soon. I have recently moved back to my old home town with DH and DS (3). I went to a comprehensive, MANY years ago. Thing is, the only people going are those who weren't in my class at school, are mostly grandparents themselves,didn't leave to go to uni etc and who I have absolutely nothing in common with (other than a morbid curiosity to see how things turn out). Even worse, lots of people who I can't even remember who now have tattoos and mean looking dogs now want to be my friend on FB. Anything I do talk about (former job, home in France etc) sounds like boasting, so I feel uncomfortable. Am I just an insufferable snob confused? What's my best tactic?

I went to one with my sister. I knew nobody as nobody from my year was there.
There was a trio of women from 3 years above me and one looked amazingly rejuvenated/glammed up but her skin looked like alabaster white , her cheek bones abnormally prominant and her eyes too big. Still, she looked amazingly young and gorgeous for her age.
One man in my sister's year - 3 years below- said he had a crush on me at school.
I got bored and went home early never to go again.

The reunion is year specific, my DS is three and some of my peers are grandparents because they got knocked up behind the bike sheds when they were 13 started their families young.
