To ask you what diet?

I'm in a panic here.
A few months ago I ask you lovely lot for help, encouragement etc to lose weight and I have since lost almost 4st on a mix of vlcd and low carb however my doctor has today insisted I stop this because the low carb aspect is damaging my already damaged kidney so I'm freaking out.
I feel a bit lost and not sure what to do next and I kind of want to start something asap because I know what I'm like and one week off track turns into one month and so on.

I'm looking for something simple, healthy, not high in protein and personally I'd like something sugar free too.

I welcome and appreciate all ideas though!

Have you tried a low glycaemic index diet.
Lots of high fibre carbs and low sugar fruits with small amounts of lean protein.
You don't need to be as strict with portion sizes either.

Well done so far Smile

Would you consider just using a calorie counter app (like myfitnesspal) to keep your recommended calorie intake what it should be? You could then lose weight by eating less than you need or maintain by eating your recommended daily intake.

This way, you could eat healthily (most of healthy stuff like veg etc is lower in cals of course) and also avoid what you'd like to avoid anyway.

It's a simple suggestion I know but could it work for you so you don't lose momentum?

Best of luck Smile

I quit sugar has some lovely recipes. I think the author has a blog.

try myfitnesspal. It isn't a diet as such, it will just tell you how much to eat and of which nutrients to help you eat a balanced diet with a big enough deficit for weight loss. It will be easier to maintain and your body won't be missing out on anything. And you can choose how much weight you want to lose a week, up to 2lbs a week.

Thanks a million everyone!
I know I should really be able to do it myself and it's not like I'm not already cooking healthy meals for my DD but I feel a little lost not following "a thing" right now.

I've found a cheap class down the road that's family run and Irish owned (I'm in Ireland) and they're OK with me bringing my DD along too which is great as that's why I was never able to join a club etc before!

Clean eating. It's just healthy, non-processed foods.

I have done very rough calorie counting using MFP but mainly just healthy eating and meal planning and lost 4.5 stone that way

Look at macrobiotic, OP, if you want directions.
In general I want to say very high veg content.
