Took ds 2 to his swim lesson this afternoon. He went in the shower after lesson, I put our things in cubicle , went back to shower to get him out. (4 doors from cubicle). Turned back, someone had thrown our clothes out of cubicle onto wet floor, gone into cubicle and shut door. I was gobsmacked! Totally understand it's annoying if x people put stuff in.cubicles and bugger off for 20 mins but ffs! I, was 4 doors up getting 7 yr old out, shower! I was so angry. I shouted something about sine incredibly rude person has thrown my sons clean clothes on wet floor, and several, mums sympathised. How bloody rude?

Prob the person was sick of types who hog cubicles and thought you were one of them

Anyway, your 7 year can get self out of shower from next time, yes?

You get arses everywhere, I'd wait till they exited the cubicle and let them know what muppets they were ( ideally without calling them too rude words given you've got your dc with you).

Sorry, I think YWBU to 'reserve' the cubicle before you were ready to use it (4 doors away or not).

20 minutes or 1 minute, makes no difference. Put your stuff in in with you, when you need to use it and not before.

Bloody rude to remove your stuff and leave on wet floor though.

Wanted to check he'd rinsed shampoo out, that was all. Shouldn't I be able to do that, without someone throwing clothes on wet floor? Or, at leas asking whose, they, were!

Surely you go and speak to an attendant if you think someone is taking the mick with respect to clothes in cubicles (or have a nosy to see who's around at the very least and if need be ask)?

Throwing another person's clothes on the floor - especially a wet floor - is out of order

Yes Minx, you should be able to. It may be annoying if people genuinely hog the facilities, but that's clearly not what was going on here though. It was unnecessary and rude to throw the clean clothes onto the floor.

Totally depends OP.

If you were writing this as a parent who was unable to use a cubicle as it appeared somebody was reserving it with clothes then you would have been told

'Move the clothes, throw them on the floor. Cheeky buggers reserving cubicles. It's not like they own them. You and your 12 dc's deserve a cubicle to change in. Go complain to staff also.'

MN is a funny old place OP.

However irritated they were, and I moved 4 doors along for a split second to check shampoo, I think it's inexcusable to pick up someone's possessions and dump, them on wet dirty floor. His clothes, were soaked.

Guess you're lucky enough to have never dropped anything en route from your locker to a cubicle and had to go back for it after depositing everything else then?

Thank you for that Andro. I don't think it was unfair of, me to put, dry clothes, swim, badge, bit of paper, etc in cubicle while I walked 4 doors along, and said, make sure, you rinse your hair I clearly wasn't 'hogging' a cubicle in the, way being, described

If it was only 4 doors along and you were only gone for 1 minute how did anyone have the time dump your clothes on the floor? Moreover, how did you not see them?

I agree with a pp. Last week there was a tread from the other side. Someone complaining that people had reserved all the cubicles with clothes. Everyone suggested that they throw the clothes on the floor.

I don't think you should have put your stuff in and then gone to check your son / get him out of the shower / wait for him to rinse hair.

Use the cubicle when you are ready! Lesson learnt for next time.

I knew before I read any responses you would be told YWBU for some bizarre reason but no, IMO, you weren't.
Yes, you could have been 'hogging' the cubicle but if I was in the position of the twat who chucked your stuff on the floor, I would have waited a minute or two - they could at least have put them somewhere dry. It's just fucking nasty behaviour quite frankly and if they were to come on here and ask "am I being unreasonable to throw some woman and her kid's clothes from empty cubicle onto wet floor?" they also would have been told yes, if it's any consolation.

Maybe they have read some threads on here! To be fair though you didn't even know if your son was ready when you claimed your cubicle.

I never had this problem when mine were small if irrc, we got changed with benches and lockers for storage.

In any case, finding your kids clothing chucked onto a wet floor is shite, arse ir not. Dump it on a bench at least.
