WIBU to knock neighbours flower baskets off fence?

Never had issues with neighbours before but 2 weeks ago they nailed plant baskets onto the fence that backs onto my garden, the nail/screws are sticking out by an inch into my garden. I went round 2 weeks ago when I noticed them and explained that they were sticking out and that I was worried about ds hurting himself on them, they apologised and said they'd take them down. Thought no more of it till today (presumed they'd been took down), ds scratched his arm on one! Would it be unreasonable to take a hammer to the screws and if they fall down, well they should have dealt with it?

Been round, they have agreed to come round tomorrow to saw them off and file any bit remaining if he can't get right to the wood :)

Apparently they couldn't find small enough screws to replace initially and had been meaning to come and ask to do this instead. But they were apologetic enough and gave ds £2 for some sweets so cant hold grudges or anything against them

I am going to check the tetanus in the morning thanks quietbatperson. And yes beertrickspotter they are nice, like I said we've always been pleasant to one another before, but I was seriously peeved when ds first did it! Hence my 'slight' overreaction ;)

Ah glad there was an amicable conclusion. I think your initial reaction was fair enough, you had already told them about the problem they should have sorted ASAP.

Hopefully they will get round and sort now.
