To not like change?

I'm such a sad case. I'm not even 30 yet however I'm such a creature of habit.

The smallest change throws me all off balance.

Things like changing a room round, a new duvet cover, a change in routine.

My Friday nights are usually rigid, it's all very sad and boring, but I have set things that I do. Today has been a funny day and I haven't done the things I usually do and it's made me feel all uneasy and out of sync.

Anyone else get like this?

It is a different sort of change that does for me. I hate plans changing at the last minute.

If someone rings me and says let's go out for lunch I can't go. It can be someone whose company I really enjoy but I can't do it if I wasn't expecting it.

I'm a bit like that too. Hate last minute plans.

I can so relate to you OP.

I've had a busy week with lots of things being moved to different times, DH working away and unplanned hiccups at home - broken freezer, problems with smoke alarms and leaking shower cubicle.

I'm just about at breaking point. I too am a creature of habit and I feel so much more relaxed when people and things stick to the expected routines!

I now have to get through 2 weeks of school holidays before I have much hope of feeling back to normal!

I don't mind change, as long as it is an improvement.

DD (13) hates change though.

I really wonder what's behind it?

I like change. It's fun and exciting. I particularly like getting new things. Grin H hates it with a passion.

I'm the opposite. I crave change, all the time. I remember as a child sobbing with frustration because my bedroom had built in cupboards which meant that I couldn't rearrange my furniture. And I begged and pleaded with my parents to move house because I found the idea of calling a different house 'home' so exciting.

Have you ever considered becoming a civil servant? You'd fit right in!

Pyjama- you could have a touch of autistic tendencies? It's a tough one to deal with though as life is about change. NOTHING stays the same so if you can just go with it and know that change is the one and only constant, then you might get on with it a bit bettdr instead of resisting it?

I really wonder what's behind it?

The clue for me is in the fact that both of my DDs have been diagnosed with Asperger's although I always insist it came from my DH's side just to wind up MIL Grin
