Booked last minute day trip to France tomorrow, DH's idea. Been out all evening. Got home. His passport is out of date. Am waiting for him to get home to tell him. He's going to be soo pissed off.

WIBU to take the kids without him? Lol

Bugger bugger bugger.

Ah fuck. I feel your pain.
It's nobody's fault. What a pisser.

This happened to us once...we were sending ds1 off for two weeks in the sun with his Grandpa...realised the day before the flight, his passport was out of date.
I get the horrors just thinking about it.

FuckyNell · 10/04/2014 23:46

Yes go without him.

Bring him back a 'royale with cheese'

I feel like I'm missing something. His passport, hs idea to book a trip. How could it be your "fault"?

cheepsskram · 11/04/2014 00:22

Lol. Dh can be a bit "everyone else's fault but mine". To be fair to him, he has taken it on the chin and said "what a bloody plonker" (him not me) and told me and my dad to take the kids and go without him.

Bless him. But better miss out on a day trip and find out now as opposed to miss out on our summer holiday in August!

Are you sure DH didn't just fancy a day at home alone and knew what he was doing all along? Grin

BrokenToeOuch · 11/04/2014 01:21

Exactly what I thought mummy - he's got something much better lined up for sure!!

BrokenToeOuch · 11/04/2014 01:22

Sorry, mum Blush

MexicanSpringtime · 11/04/2014 04:13

Do you really need a passport to go to France, I thought you just needed identification?

frogslegs35 · 11/04/2014 04:20

If you're from the UK then you need a Passport Mexican.

I'm envious of my dp - he's from another euro country and can travel freely within the EU with an Id card. It's much less hassle and doesn't really need thinking about like passports do.

cheepsskram · 11/04/2014 07:01

Hehe. A good point. He really didn't mind half add much as I thought he would. But then, he does get a kid free day in bed. Lol.

We're on the train waiting to depart. War memorials, here we come!

He's not stupid, your DH, is he?! I'm fact, it's such a genius idea that I am considering doing the same! Have a great day :)

Onesieone · 11/04/2014 08:12

Lol. Glad I'm not the only one thinking he has it well planned. Husbands idea to book! Husbands passport out of date!!!!!

Have a great time in France and show him what he missed!

WaitMonkey · 11/04/2014 08:57

What a clever man. It's a bloody inspired idea Grin . How long are you going for ? Have fun.

mrknowitall · 11/04/2014 09:29

frogslegs - is having an ID card to remember to be able to travel the same as remembering a passport to be able to travel ?

deakymom · 11/04/2014 21:07

i thought you could travel in the EU on your photo drivers licence?

cheepsskram · 11/04/2014 21:33

No idea re travelling on a photo id but we're home now and have had a lovely day. DS is going to have the best easter holiday WW1 project in his class. Lol.

DH has done lots of washing today. I'm thinking he's been abducted by aliens. Although none of the washing is away so perhaps not. Lol

It is but imo it's much easier to remember about when it needs renewing as my dp carries it in his wallet at all times and because in his country it's mandatory that all adult citizens have one and is a punishable offence if he doesn't.
