please

Something that i can't put down - thriller but not to violent (yeah i know!). Can be a love story but no one is allowed to die. Can be set in old or modern times.

ElleMcFearsome · 10/04/2014 20:48

Gone Girl or Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn? Something by Barbara Vine (aka Ruth Rendell)? Case Histories or something else by Kate Atkinson?

LEMmingaround · 10/04/2014 20:49

I know you don't want death but Fractured by Dani Atkins blew my mind.

Skivvywoman · 10/04/2014 20:50

I've just downloaded the new cathy glass book "daddy's little princess" and 12 years a slave, not what you wanted though Grin

TippiShagpile · 10/04/2014 20:50

The Lewis trilogies are amazing but again there's death. So worth it though....

ElleMcFearsome · 10/04/2014 20:50

Sharp Objects, I thought, was better than Gone Girl. Very dark in an emotional way, rather than in a directly violent way.

LulaPalooza · 10/04/2014 20:51

The Ruby Slippers by Keir Alexander

or The Rosie Project by Graham Simsion

Neither are thrillers but both utterly wonderful, The Rosie Project is a love story of sorts

TippiShagpile · 10/04/2014 20:51

And Fractured was a love story too

EatDessertFirst · 10/04/2014 20:53

Hate to be 'mainstream' but The Hunger Games trilogy is a great read. Much better than the films. Game of Thrones is good too if you have the patience for an epic.

queenofthemountains · 10/04/2014 20:58

Crow Lake or The Other Side of the Bridge by Mary Lawson. Just lovely stories. If you want a really long story I know this much is true by Wally Lamb.

elmerelephant · 10/04/2014 20:58

The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern , Ive just read it formy book club and its the first book that Ive thought was wonderful

LEMmingaround · 10/04/2014 21:04

I just finished reading "War Brides" and if you have Amazon Prime it's free in the lending library. It was a good read.

Sandthorn · 10/04/2014 21:09

Jussi Adler-Olsen: Mercy.

missingwelliesinsd · 10/04/2014 21:10

Oh, I think I want to qualify my recommendation though. "War Brides" was an entertaining story but not the most well written. A book to borrow from the kindle library if you are able, but I wouldn't recommend buying it.

TheHappyMonkey · 10/04/2014 21:12

The house of decoration

TheHappyMonkey · 10/04/2014 21:13

It's not a thriller but it is a brilliant story

Fluffyears · 10/04/2014 21:16

Not a crime but a grey book is 'Thursdays in the park' or for crime Denise mina is good especially 'the end of the wasp season' the detective is pregnant in it which is interesting.

moonshine · 10/04/2014 21:29

You're not after something literary, right ;-)

Then I can thoroughly recommend Broken Dolls by James Carol (it's a thriller) - I can't believe how much I enjoyed it (don't usually 'trust' the cheap books on Kindle) and it's currently still only 59p!

formerbabe · 10/04/2014 22:22

Peter James...Perfect People

I couldn't put it down!!

Lurleene · 10/04/2014 22:30

I'm reading Apple Tree Yard at the moment and really enjoying it - I am finding it very intriguing so far...

Babyturnip · 10/04/2014 22:30

Could I add "before I go to sleep" by s j Watson the best thrillers have read in ages with a brilliant twist :)

Babyturnip · 10/04/2014 22:31
