so it might sound a little ott.. however dd has scarlet fever about 2 weeks ago and has been on a strong course of antibiotics.
About 2 days ago i noticed a little fluid filled blister come up on her back which i thought was a bite, tonight she has about 5 small fluid filled blisters on her back and stomach and the one from a few days ago is bigger and seems to have dried up.
Dd seems well, no temp or other symptoms but what are the blisters?

Take her if you're worried and GP not health visitor or nurse. We see a lot more of this that they do.

All three of mine had cp last month (oh what a fun month that was). Dd's started on a Wednesday with one spot, by the Saturday she had maybe 12. I thought she had gotten off lightly (judging by her brothers who had more than their share of spots each). On the Monday through to Wednesday she got quite a few more. So, yes it could be cp. Ds2 was not particularly ill with it either, just uncomfortable and tired through loss of sleep.

goldenlula · 10/04/2014 00:40

Oh, and ds1 is 8, he has had many exposures to co (all before the child has come out in spots, on the day they started or the day before) and never got it. I began to think he was immune, until he came home with spots on his torso. I have no idea where he picked it up, just some random person.

Misspixietrix · 10/04/2014 13:13

How

Misspixietrix · 10/04/2014 13:14

How is Dd today OP? I'd you get her in with the GP?

oscarwilde · 10/04/2014 13:27

Advise the receptionist when you make the booking. If you are possibly contagious - they will usually seat you somewhere other than the waiting room at the GP's.

Cadsuane · 10/04/2014 14:07

DD1 was 18 months and only had only a few spots on either arm and was completely well. I only know it was chicken pox as she had an appointment with the GP for her allergies the day the spots came up.
DD2 however was very unwell when she caught it a few years later.

WilsonFrickett · 10/04/2014 14:14

It sounds like CP but given she has just had scarlet fever and strong anti-b's I'd take her to the docs. Ring ahead and explain so you're not sitting with everyone else, in case it is just CP. It could equally be an allergic reaction or a post-viral infection.

DS only had a few spots, one massive one on his back, but only really a handful and was quite well.

nutcasenan · 10/04/2014 14:16

It's not over the top. Children should always be seen if something is not right. Sounds like Chicken Pox but you still need to make sure. In any case you should be aware of the infectious aspect and then make any necessary precautions. Poor little sausage, make sure she has lots of treats.

HI everyone just to update..
Dd woke up this morning with about 15 spots and probably has about 30 in total now, some of which are in her mouth and genitals God love her.
She seems pretty well but has developed a temp.
Called gp and was advised just to keep her home and keep an eye on her as the spots I described sounded like classic chicken pox.
Bumped into dds teacher at the shop and she said half the class have had it.

Aww bless her. Hope she's better soon OP. Dd caught it first here. Ds came down with it 5days later. I was changing his nappy (couple of years ago now) when I noticed he had a load all over his genitals. :( we bumped into our teacher then (was Christmas) and was told they were 'dropping like flies'. I gave Piriton to help with the itching along with the cammomile lotion etc.

mummytowillow · 10/04/2014 19:35

My DD only had 16 spots in total but it was definitely CP.

WilsonFrickett · 10/04/2014 20:20

Oh poor wee thing. Her immune system probably took a knock after the scarlet fever which is why she's picked it up now. Make sure you look after yourself too op, that's a wee run of bad luck and it takes it out of you too!

ditsydoll · 11/04/2014 21:48

Poor dd has worsened since my last post, maternal instinct just told me something wasn't right.
She's got and infection and infected chicken pox in her throat. She's on anti bs and on the mend.

lipglossandlashes · 11/04/2014 21:56

Oh sorry Ditsy I hadn't seen your last post, that's great she is on the mend!

Misspixietrix · 11/04/2014 22:34

Oh bless her. I hope they kick in soon and she's back to her Normal self in no time.
