Free hot meals for all

only 2 thousand schools don't have kitchens and I don't think they will have before September either

They don't frigging think these things through do they

Not a bad policy but you have to have the kitchens to have the food ffs

Yanbu!!!

Fusedog · 08/04/2014 12:19

And apparently the only have money for the dinners not new kitchens and also many schools that have packed lunches will now have to hire dinner lady's for which there is no money

Fusedog · 08/04/2014 12:20

Gileswithachainsaw · 08/04/2014 12:21

And your supposed to be grateful

Fusedog · 08/04/2014 12:24

And the money is allocated on pupil numbers not school need

so you can have a small school with no kitchen getting peanuts and a massive school with a boss kitchen getting the bulk of the money

There's people are fools surly my 14 year old could have thought out a better system

He's a clueless twonk with no backbone.

YouTheCat · 08/04/2014 12:34

He is a twat for many many reasons as well as this.

It's a stupid policy anyway....

arethereanyleftatall · 08/04/2014 21:57

I know I'm the only one, but...I like him.

EEasterChick · 08/04/2014 21:58

This is the easiest AIBU ever. YANBU!!

Uverguv · 08/04/2014 22:01

... And the help for schools they are trumpeting comes at a price. We are looking at spending in the region of £20k to install a kitchen - we currently have no facilities at all and no nearby schools that can supply us - they are all going to be working to capacity to serve their own children. I've had more help from commercial caterers than from the government helpline, which wanted to charge for 7 hours of advice. As the best their website could come up with was to stagger lunch servings and to get parents to come in to chop vegetables, I declined their offer.
Don't get me started on the funding.
A clear case of opening mouth before engaging brain Mr Clegg - I'd be delighted to welcome you to our school so you can see just what we are up against.

peggyundercrackers · 08/04/2014 22:02

Yep he is an absolute twat - I didn't think anyone listened to what he said, Everytime he opens his mouth it just sounds like blah blah blah...

MojitoMadness · 08/04/2014 22:06

YANBU!

maudpringle · 08/04/2014 22:10

He is a bloody numpty Angry

ravenAK · 08/04/2014 22:11

Blimey, it took the FSM fiasco before anyone noticed? I thought he was a bit suss when he started snogging CallMeDave amidst the roses...

grovel · 08/04/2014 22:13

He is a twat but the £10,000 personal allowance is LibDem as is the Pupil Premium (not sure this works but I approve the principle). Coalition is tough for the smaller party and we were looking over a cliff in 2010.

TheCrackFox · 08/04/2014 22:22

He's an arse.

route1 · 08/04/2014 22:31

I think the tories are very happy to let him have his head with crap policies like this as they know it's going to end in disaster and make him look bad.

The lib dems are going to be demolished in the next election.

annebullin · 08/04/2014 22:37

I like him as well. I think pupil premium is brilliant.

MinecraftAteMyWorld · 08/04/2014 22:54

I think it's a good idea. I wrote to my (LibDem) MP last summer and asked them to consider it after I'd seen that charity report on how it had such a huge impact on children. He was supportive but non-committal and thanked me for my idea. They'd clearly already decided to do it but he couldn't say yet!
I'm another fan of the pupil premium and the tax break.
I know some schools are going to struggle with providing hot meals. I'm not a lunatic but so many children will benefit. My kids' school got rid of the kitchen about ten years ago and a group of us spent years trying to argue for proper hot meals for our children. We finally got them back two years ago. The school fought tooth and nail, coming up with excuse after excuse about how impossible it was. But it proved to be entirely possible when a new member of staff started, and now half the kids have school meals on any given day.

jellybeans · 08/04/2014 23:03

Yanbu. Can't stand him or his policies.
