To think Countryfile has it's head up its own arse.

On what plant do the BBC think the majority of the population want to watch one of the presenters on Countryfile strutting around her fucking huge 'orchard' planting seeds.

Hardly representative of most people's circumstances is it?

I like Matt and have no issues with him presenting from the farm he grew up on but Ellie's fucking 'orchard' has got right up my pipe.

It's not even close to any 'country life'. If you have land you need to make it work for you- not just plant a few poppies and daisies and pat yourself on the back for your actions.

bearbehind you're right, I'd have poppies and cowslip growing out my arse. ps DH thinks Countryfile is shite. In his words "fuck sake they make it sound like farming is all sunshine and fucking rainbows when in reality it's piss, shite and rain". He's crabby! It's lambing time. It's those 4 months of the year I want to suffocate him while he sleeps.

Countryfile has sanitised the true rural way of life and is now a glossy magazine programme without the faintest whiff of manure to sully the idyll.

I would like to see the true picture of how people are managing in Somerset or how dairy farmers cope with the latest £1 for 4 pints scam by the supermarket or rural poverty.

Plus John Craven needs to get his teeth fitted properly.

Somerset and the west coast of wales deserve a mention as they struggle to get back on their knees post floods, as does the fact that the Devon/Cornwall train line from London is now FINALLY open.

Encouraging a few Easter tourists down tourists down to those bits of the West Country not totally ravaged wouldn't be a good idea to aid the economy down there at all would it?

I don't actually know who the target audience is for countryfile anymore. I'm a Londoner born and bred & it gets on MY nerves so lord knows what proper country folk think. It's like that other show about moving to homes in the country - so few people have £750K just laying around to splurge on some idyllic views that it just makes you feel crap about your own perfectly respectable, but modest abode.
