Just that. It's a whole world that has evaded me. So, how many of you regularly look at these? Do you follow them? Are some like soap operas?

Personal blogs/diary-style ones seem to be really well known on MN, don't they? I've noticed lots of people, not just on this thread, think blog=personal diary.

I follow some sewing ones because I'm trying to learn and it's useful to have someone on hand you can ask questions of. Other than that I follow feministy ones and some academic ones for work - something like half of these are written under aliases or by several contributors so they're not personal at all. It's a much quicker way of getting information than waiting for a publication that might take days (newspaper) or months (journals), and if you are interested in what someone is working on, you can get in touch and talk to them about it before it's completely finished.

There are nice food ones too, but I get bored with individual ones after a bit and move on.
