i have notied with a lot of companies that once you applied online for a spot that you can not re apply for something else with them for 6 months.

am i the only one who thinks this is really unfair?

iv applied for 3 companies.. didnt get a interveiw, was emailed and told "thank you for your application good luck etc etc, we will no longer keep your details on record etc"

so when another spot has opened up iv applied and becasue iv applied to them in the 6 months and becasue they didnt choose me that time they can not accept my application?

it just seems silly and really unfair. 100's are going for the same job so of course not every one is going to even get an interveiw but this to me just says.. your just not good enough at all for us, so we are not even going to condiser you. the only reason for it tha ti can see is to limit the amount of people going for it? i think they are being vub

Different email address and slightly change your name - Susan Smith to Susie Smith (assuming you are happy to be known as Susie forever more!)

It's a computer - it will look for matches in data - it doesn't understand common sense.

loads of people will have the right profile and would be great.. its just pot luck on who g ets picked, so they should be able to apply again imo.

i had a meeting with my job centre adviser today, and asked him about it, he thought they where unfair aswell, he said it was a way of limiting the amount of applications they get.. which they can gets 100's but it seems unfair to only give a person one chance every 6 months.. which is what there basically saying imo.

thank you mumoftwo.. i will do do that.. it would work very well with my name aswell.

My son has just completed the whole interview process at Aldi which last 5 weeks and involved 3 'interviews' the first one was a virtual interview, the 2nd one was meeting a manager at the store and the 3rd one was a 6am visit to go through 'practicalities'.
He was told via email yesterday he was unsuccessful - 10 days after final interview.
The whole process was poor with no real communication. They lead you to believe you have got the job by the final interview so my son was very disappointed when he was finally rejected

I think it's madness having that much of a recruitment process for these level jobs. I have been offered much more senior jobs following a brief chat on the phone.

I have recently had to take a break in my career for part time/flexible work so have gone to an entry level job and the amount of hoops I had to jump through is ridiculous. I luckily only had to do this once as I was offered the role but a screening call, tests and interviews for a NMW job (or there abouts) is stupid and demoralising, especially if you have to do this multiple times before getting a job.
