To be shocked at how many teenagers do absolutely NOTHING on the weekends

I reckon teenagers should be put to work - whether it be sport or actual work (waiting tables/supermarket checkout etc).

I think that letting them do absolutely nothing, doesn't help them in the long term and am surprised at how many people I know who think it's entirely normal for their little darling to hide in their bedroom for days on end.

I don't want ds1 getting a job as I want him to concentrate on his GCSE studies ( and as many people have said there aren't that many jobs around)

He doesn't spend all the time in his bedroom but goes there to study, he is a bit of a lazy git but does explorers one night, is a young leader at beavers on another and does badminton and an hour with a tutor on the third night

Studying is work

And this may come as a shock but during the week I spend the vast majority of my days socialising with friends and chilling at home...on the weekends I do even less than that Grin
