How long did it take for your periods to return?

My last injection was 16th October, was due to have another on 8th January but they said I needed a break. So I'm almost four months off it and no periods. I'm also bloated and hormonal for at least last two weeks but nothing to show for it.

2 years.

After my son was born straight after coming off...

I liked using depo. I have major problems with the pill and implant though, so have been pleased to find something that worked.

After depo it took 6 weeks for my periods to return, but I had been put on the pill by my doctor and I think that really helped things along.

I had a huge allergic reaction to the pill after a few weeks and we decided to stop all contraception and ttc. I'm pregnant and caught quickly so I don't think depo slowed things down for me there. Btw feeling bloated and having period cramps were my first pregnancy symptom so you may want to think about testing if your period doesn't come soon.

18 months. Had been on it a few years but would never recommend it to anyone.

Over a year, and then they came back with a vengeance, pain like I'd never had before. Plus I had recurring thrush for 18 months after the injection.
Never again.
But I have a mirena now which some people hate!

I'm not ttc. I was taken off it due to severe headaches, I've still got them. Wanting to TTC late next year so after posting this thread I might well stay off the depo. Nothing else has ever agreed with me though. I either got pregnant (three miscarriages) or I bled constantly.

With DD it was about 3 months, and the next time with DS was 6 months.

Hi I was on depo and came off it fell pregnant 4 months later.
My question is after having my second boy 10 months ago I have now had my second injection of depo as chose that contraception again periods stopped completely same as last time but now having dark brown spotting.does anyone know what this could be?
