AIBU to be shocked at this?

Some guy next to me on the bus currently smoking marijuana!!!! On a bus!!!! He isn't speaking English but clearly isn't a tourist so obviously lives here and obviously knows smoking on a bus is not allowed.

I am [shocked] but thinking about it it probably is normal. But, never have I ever!!!

That's almost as bad as people putting make up on!

Yes, that is downright antisocial. (but then so are most town centres at night at the weekend when the pubs are let loose).

Imagine if someone was smoking a cigar on a bus...

I do partake as well (like a PP said) but only in private or in a park or out of the way of children.

Mind you, better get used to it as more and more countries/states decriminalise/legalise it. And so they should. Most ridiculous thing to lock people up for smoking a herb!

There is too much money to be made off it in business and tax.
Mark my words, within years they'll be prepackaged like Marlboros.

That's why I like living in the Netherlands. No hysteria here about it, just control it in coffeeshops etc.

No heroin users under those in their 60's or dead here.

I've just asked my lodger the MOD driver what he'd have done if this had happened when he was driving red buses in London.

He says he'd have told the passenger to get off and refused to move until he got off. And radio-ed for police back-up if necessary.

Lots of bus companies have numbers or websites where you can report antisocial behaviour in confidence. The police got on a bus I was on recently to check tickets and give out details of a number you could text. Maybe worth looking to see if there's anything like that in your area in case it happens again?
