I'm not sure what it is,but something gives me that impression.

Oh no Red, a blokey Northern real man that can cook. What's not to like? Shock Grin

Ulysses · 21/03/2014 19:52

I got put off him when he declared he voted Conservative. I was always on the fence anyway but that clinched it for me.

squoosh · 21/03/2014 19:54

He SO looks like a Conservative supporter, revving up his sports cars and saying things like 'ey up, where there's muck there's brass'.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 21/03/2014 19:59

I can't stand him. I watched that show this afternoon with my Dad (a Yorkshireman) and we had a good laugh at the Yorkshireness.

I thought he lived in Hampshire.

HenriettaTurkey · 21/03/2014 20:05

Ugh no. I'm a Yorkshire woman and can't stand him. Mainly because I saw him in a documentary about driving cars in Italy and he did not come across well and was very patronising to his girlfriend. And because of that thing about running over cyclists because they slowed him down in his Aston Martin. Or something.

And now you tell me he's a Tory. Figures.

formerbabe · 21/03/2014 20:08

He really annoys me because everything he cooks, he seems to describe as 'simple' or 'easy' when it is often the opposite.

Hassled · 21/03/2014 20:11

I like him to quite an embarrassing degree. I do agree there's a high probability he's a Yorkshireman.

BadgersNadgers · 21/03/2014 21:54

Is he? I always thought he was a vegetarian from Lancashire.

Why do they make a big deal about him at Castle Howard? Was he a footman or an under gardener?

Oh I see! Interesting that he has adopted the ego of the landed gentry from his parent's employers.

squoosh · 21/03/2014 22:24

Lovely place to grow up though!

MadsMikkelsensCheekbones · 21/03/2014 22:24

He still lives in Winchester and I used to know him when I was single!!!
I got very pissed one night when out and my friend and I went up to him and asked him if he could make anything out of these random items in a ready steady cook type of way! ... Needless to say he was unimpressed ! That was the start of a small chatty type of friendship with him..he's a nice bloke! I then bumped into him on a hen do in Brighton and we chatted...I did fancy him and was giving him lots of signals but sadly he didn't take the bait-Grin.... I then faintly thought he must be gay!! I have never not been able to pull a guy I like!!!

MadsMikkelsensCheekbones · 21/03/2014 22:26

Vainly not faintly!

Mouthfulofquiz · 22/03/2014 10:15

I've just popped back to the thread as I feel a bit guilty for slagging off his shirts yesterday - he actually looks very handsome on Saturday kitchen just now.....

Sparklingbrook · 22/03/2014 10:17

Doesn't he just Mouthful. [grin[ Caroline Quentin is grating my garrot though.

Sparklingbrook · 22/03/2014 10:17

TSSDNCOP · 22/03/2014 10:33

He has a Joey and Chandler best buds bracelet.

And what appears to be a large cat clinging to his groin.

Not that Yorkshire then Grin

Sparklingbrook · 22/03/2014 10:34

Someone tell Caroline Quentin to calm down....

honeybeeridiculous · 22/03/2014 10:44

He lives in Beaulie now, in Hampshire

Sparklingbrook · 22/03/2014 10:45

Ooh I have been there. That's where 'World of Top Gear' is. Grin

honeybeeridiculous · 22/03/2014 10:46

It is sparkling lovely part of the world, bet he's got a flippin great mansion Grin

TwinklyMummaLuvsHerBubba89 · 22/03/2014 10:59

Am I the only one who has to turn over when he comes on TV due to his newly acquired accent.

Like Lulu when she remembers she's Scottish and not American , James appears to have forgotten his Yorkshire accent.

Sounds very silly, be true to your roots man!

And yes, how often can one person tell us where they're from with a new faux hants accent
