Really don't understand why they're all fighting over it.

There's some lovely tapestry/wooden chairs knocking about. Why don't they just sit on one of them?

Wink

Or have I missed the point..?

HODOR!

McFlurry · 14/03/2014 06:34

My friend reminded me recently about a very drunken argument I had with Hodor (well, Kristian Nairn who plays him). I only have a vague recollection of it but I think I accused him of stealing my shoes (why the 6 ft 10 KN would want the shoes of a 5'4 woman was logic that evaded me at the time). 'Twas a loooong time ago when he worked in a club I frequented.

Badvoc · 14/03/2014 06:41

I want to sit on it!!
Where is this exhibition of which you all speak!?

McFlurry · 14/03/2014 06:56

There was an exhibition in Belfast last June which is where I sat on it twice

Bloodyholly · 14/03/2014 07:04

Just in case anybody has twenty grand to spare Iron Throne

CokeFan · 14/03/2014 07:08

Free delivery! Who could complain at that?

McFlurry · 14/03/2014 07:50

Iron Throne would be a tough one to accessorise with your twigs and pebbly shit and Laura Ashley soft furnishings. Farrow and Ball will have to develop a whole new shade to co-ordinate. Fire and Blood? Red Wedding?

NinjaBunny · 14/03/2014 09:12

True.

But if a female took the throne and slung a throw over it and added matching cushions it would be fucking hilarious.

Maybe that's what happens?

If Sansa becomes queen, it'll be all ribbons and bows. Grin

The Throne was at Newcastle Comic Convention last weekend. Soooo much fun! And hugs from Gimli and the 7th Doctor!

Meerkatwhiskers · 14/03/2014 09:27

I have only just watched it from the beginning and so only just seen the red wedding Shock.

I, alas, have not sat in the throne. It looks bloody uncomfy tbh. I think I'd have a poang too.

Go Daenarys!!

NinjaBunny · 14/03/2014 10:00

I'm still on series 2.

Not very good at committing myself to watching a weekly program so I wait for the DVDs/Blu Rays to come and watch a few an evening.

The bloke who wants to be seen as nasty but isn't really nasty has just burnt and hung those two boys.

And Sensa's just had her first period.

DP's read the books so it's all less of a surprise for him.

There is so much to come, Ninja!

I met Gregor Clegane at the weekend and he's 7ft1! Such a lovely, softly spoken bloke, not at all like his character.

RiverTam · 14/03/2014 11:05

I saw Ser Jorah in my local Sainsbo's, shopping with his missus.

That was dull. I'll get my coat.

McFlurry · 14/03/2014 11:41

I have also seen Kit Harrington while shopping in town but as I spent time on set with him and several of the Nights Watch guy, I count him more as a personal friend than a cebrity spot

He's vair nice,IRL but quite short.

TeaMakesItAllPossible · 14/03/2014 11:52

I want to bump into characters, have a relative in the series and sit on the iron throne

Badvoc · 14/03/2014 12:04

Me too tea :(

McFlurry · 14/03/2014 12:13

I have also been to the actual Castle Black (technically, I've stood on top of The Wall), Blackwater Bay and the gates of Kings Landing, as well as the forest and shack where Samwell killed the White Walker.

McFlurry · 14/03/2014 12:14

But you really don't want to see any of those places IRL. Totally spoils the magic of telly.

JennySense · 14/03/2014 12:54

hmm the Iron Throne is supposed to be uncomfortable. It was made from swords and you can't lean back into it.

Badvoc · 14/03/2014 14:40

Mcflurry...I am starting to take an immense dislike to you!
:)
Seriously, how?
How did you do those things? and please can I do them!!??

McFlurry · 14/03/2014 15:07

Sorry Badvoc Grin

My DD was an extra in Season 3. I had to chaperone her due to her age and all the scenes she was needed on set for were on location. Most of it is filmed here in NI so most of the extras are locals, recruited by an Extras NI in Belfast. If you sign up with them, you stand a good chance of appearing in GoT...especially if you're a beardy bloke with long hair abd prepared to die a horrible death in a muddy field 20 times a day Grin.

I answered an ad looking for young babies and DD was one of 5 or 6 babies used for the part of Gilly's baby. It wasn't the worst way to kill some time while on maternity leave and will make a good story for DD to tell in interviews when she's a famous Hollywood star Grin

ThePost · 14/03/2014 15:19

I think that's the point - people fight to the death and destroy their friends and family for the right to the Iron Throne only to find that they can never sit comfortably. Mind you, I think it would be a bit more comfy if one could sit on Jon Snow's lap while he sits on the Iron Throne...

TeaMakesItAllPossible · 14/03/2014 15:20

I could be a hairy, tall, muddy man in my next life and I love mud wrestling, being stabbed and getting my kit off.

Awwwww Gilly's baby. Nice. But I am still jealous

AngelaDaviesHair · 14/03/2014 15:25

I don't care if its uncomfy I would still do Sean Bean whilst he sits on it

Oh yes, joining that queue!

YouTheCat · 14/03/2014 15:35

McFlurry, what a brilliant thing to do! I am in awe. Grin
