AIBU to start a debate?

I am organised and file things and know where everything is.

My boss could enter an empty lift, go up three floors and leave a mess.

He accuses me of me being weird and controlling (in a nice way)

I argue that his disorganisation costs him thousands of pounds a year (in a narky I do the accounts sort of way)

Why? Why? Why? Would you toss an invoice on the floor/cluttered desk/shelf/lose it?

If you are like my boss please explain why. If you are like me are you weird or sensible?

By the way. I love my boss. He is wonderful and great but fecking messy!

I am naturally organised. I love stationery. Little boxes etc.

I can't work in a mess.

I've just moved house. Nothing made me happier than filling my new desk drawers and reacquainting myself uth my filing cabinet which had beenin storage.

I also don't really do "stuff" and a pretty ruthless about throwing things away.

A label maker is my new toy.

My family take the piss but are then deeply envious when I can direct them to the correct documentation for several thousand miles away....

Scarletlady It depends where you choose to keep your files.

There are food hygeine guidelines for arranging your fridge? Confused

I mean, aside from not putting the raw chicken in a box of something you eat raw. Really?

Guess. Grin

When I lived alone, all my filing was done on a Sunday after I'd finished a thorough clean of the flat. I diligently shredded documents on a monthly basis and was never late in sending a birthday card.

Now, though, I have more to remember. I do manage to keep track of DD's social and academic life, plus my dad's hospital appointments (and which ones I need to attend with him and which ones I don't), on top of Dad's medication, work and the day to day stuff in my house like bills and things. Filing... will get done one of these days. At the moment, quiet time to have a quick sketch is more essential.

I'm quite good on most things, but paperwork is my downfall..

well not just the meat Grin, you have to ensure it's at the right temperature, make sure stuff is not stacked too close together, cheese etc at the top, raw meats etc at the bottom in containers with lids, never store tins in the fridge (eg half tin of beans etc) organise it by date, so the stuff closest to being out of date is always the stuff at the front, jars in the door shelves, wipe shelves regularly with anti bac stuff.

It's verging on a bloody SCIENCE, I tell you. Grin

I am messy but organised. My house will never look like a show home, there's always piles of clothes in the utility, toys not tidied in the play room etc. But I prioritise so there is always clean uniforms/shirts etc for the next day, dishwasher is emptied daily, lunhboxes and bags etc ready the night before. I run round and clean the bogs and sinks once a day. Paperwork is my downfall, even though I used to work in an office and could be very organised there! Once a week I take a recycling bag and wander from room to room chucking out any unwanted crap, papers etc. It has taken me 20 years to get to this point though!! Deep down I am slut and always will be lol.

I am messy and disorganised and I wish I wasn't, but however hard I try I just can't seem to stay on top of stuff. I'll be OK for a while and then will slip back into my old ways. Sad

I try and try but I feel like I am fighting a losing battle against the messiness of DH, 2 destructive little boys and the dogs. Some days it feels like they are going around behind me destroying any tiny patches of tidiness, raiding the bin (dogs), creating new chaos and driving me mad! I am organised at heart but am sinking against superior man power.
