if you had no children, or partner, and a job that you could conceivably take anywhere, but did have a mortgage, a cat (Hmm) and family in the UK?

I'm in the mood for dreams, I think.

I worked in Upstate New York when I finished my college course. I came home to marry dh. But if I had been free and single, would have looked to go abroad again.

Have never lived in London and yes I imagine it would be expensive, but surely you'd be earning more..
And if you rent out your current house you could always move back if it didn't work out.

This is so interesting, to see what others would do.

I have given it some careful thought, though, and have realised that in fact I am just feeling in a bit of a rut. I don't really want to move away from friends and the cat, of course Wink

I like the novel writing idea even though mine are crap Grin

I think about this. My job would be portable with a little further training. My equity would buy a nice house, car, and give me time to live while undertaking the additional training I'd need to work in the us. It's tempting.
